Extremely small room, cleanliness barely ok, interior design looks as if they were renting their rooms by the hour. The hallway and staircase smell as if they had lit dozens of scented candles in the, the room itself and the inside of the elevator smelled a different kind of funny). The mattress was far too soft for a good night's sleep They advertise a restaurant on their web page and in the infotainment section displayed on their TV, but there IS no restaurant (I explicitly asked the receptionist and she confirmed). There is an access code for Wifi (which you will not be given unless you explicitly ask), but it doesn't work. The reception in only staffed between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Outside of those hours you cannot even get anybody on the phone if you have a problem. The prices are steep nonetheless (I paid 129 € a night without breakfast, breakfast is 15 € on top, parking another 15€ on top). I did not check the alleged gym, but since I will never visit that hotel again, I cannot check if the gym actually exists. Such a high price for such poor quality, poor service and even a deceitful description is an outrage. Never again!

I stayed at the Hotel Royal for one week while I attended a conference. The concierge called me to know my arrival time, as the reception is usually closed in the afternoon. Don't be scared by the grid fence which protects the reception - the staff is a professional team. The check-in is supported via an automat who accepts normal credit cards. Breakfast is always extra (18€) and served until 09:30 only. The single room is a bit narrow, especially if you have bigger luggage. The edge of the bed meets the edge of the desk so some climbing needs to be done. Bathroom meets expectations. In summer the terrace will be opened also, which provides the opportunity of having a drink in quiet courtyard. Karlsruhe castle is not far away, and there is also tram station just around the corner. All in all, a good hotel for a business trip.

I stayed a week there recently. The service was terrific, the staff very hospitable. The room was laid out well and very clean and modern. The hotel is a short walk to the tram as well as to many good places to eat. My room upstairs was very quiet. The breakfast was tasty - a nice assortment of options along with an attentive staff. It's a small hotel so not as full service as some places, but it's a great value in a nice city. Wifi was great in the room.

Одноместный номер просто ужас! Душно, стойкий запах табака, который не выветривается. Ночью сама по себе включалась вытяжка, что мешало спать. Плюс ко всему: холодильник работал очень громко, но моя еда за ночь испортилась, так как он не держал температуру. Персонал: я просила переселить меня в другой номер, мне отказали. Когда я выселялась на день раньше, так как спать там было невозможно и не было никакого желания провести там еще одну ночь, уже были готовы дать другой номер. Спасибо, уже не надо.

Ein absolutes No-Go. Bereits beim Empfang wird man mit Chaos begrüßt und der Überraschung, dass es einen Wasserschaden gibt im Fitness Raum. Der Gestank im gesamten Hotel ist unerträglich. Die Einzelzimmer, sodann man es so nennen kann, sind eine Zumutung. Extrem laut, stickig, völlig durchgelegene Matratze und eine Klimaanlage die sich gerne einmal selbständig macht. NIE WIEDER
