Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge

2 nights - 3 rooms – 6 guests Hotel: Strenuous track to get there, but safari 4x4 jeeps climb all roads. Lovely bungalows of 2 rooms with solar on deck, in a pleasant garden. Warm welcome with Masaï women. Quiet & relaxing place. Remarkable view and attentive staff. We did enjoy much the Lake Manyara Park visit for its colourful birds, monkeys & elephants so close to the jeep, and for its unique forest. It is also a place to stay after a visit to Tarangire Park, with its multitude of animals, lions, elephants and more… Rooms: Big room climatized, well equipped, private terrasse, outside shower. Food/restaurant: Good food, many Indian dishes. Breakfast at 6am upon request. Menu choice for lunch boxes. Why stay there: To rest in the enjoyable refreshing 24°C pool (when safari does not finish too late), and for its proximity with Lake Manyara Park & airport.

Wow, this is what five star luxury feels like, and in what an outstanding location too. Couldn't fault the staff for their friendly attitude, and always with a smile. Comfortable was outstanding, and the bed. Again wider than I'm tall, but so comfortable. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, so couldn't experience everything this lodge had to offer. Food was amazing. The view was amazing. The room was amazing.

This lodge is very well located overlooking lake Manyara. What stood out for me is the bush shower which we used throughout our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean thanks to house keeping. I loved the white chocolates beside our beds every evening. I loved the welcome dance from the Masai ladies which I couldn’t help but join. I loved the breakfast buffet. I loved the welcome juice. I loved that the rooms have a swing and chairs at the balconies. The only downside as Serena Ngorongoro this lodge charges soft drinks at dinner times, including water. I mentioned this to staff before we left. Also WiFi in some rooms was on and off for about two to three hours until one goes to the main house. Other than that, the staff were professional, friendly and the chefs’ dinner and meals were world class I couldn’t fault the food, ambience and location. Also we couldn’t see or know where our guide slept or what he ate. We noticed he slept outside the lodge we recommend that the owners think about guides’ accommodation and try to improve it so guides can stay near the clients.
