Neugal Riverfront Resort

Amazing view. Good food. Presidential suite is very spacious and offers great view. Congenial staff. River is very easily accessible and almost private. Good value for money. Only difficulty is reaching there as roadworks ***** Pathankot highway are a bother. All in all must recommend.

Again landed at this favorite place of ours exactly a year later. Beautiful as always with superb location , good food ,courteous and efficient staff. The only issue which bothered us a little was a marriage celebration which spoilt the serenity of the place . Therefore it is better to check with the hotel before finalizing the dates and booking but it is a must visit property .

This is a marvelous property, next to the Neugal river and is value for money. The view from every room is mesmerizing and one just cannot have enough of it. The staff was very responsive and the food very tasty. Had the opportunity to meet the owner Mr Hitesh Sharma, a very friendly and dynamic gentleman who personally supervises and ensures everything. Over all a heavenly experience. We are very avid and passionate about travelling and practically travel every alternate month. I can claim with authority this was one of our best experience in the past decade. Guests from anywhere can take a flight to Dharamshala ( via Delhi ) and a taxi to the Resort which is just 28 kms from the Airport and 10 kms short of Palampur town. A week long holiday to this resort ( also covering near by areas ) will be a life time experience worth every penny. We have planned to visit it again next year.

We found the response of persons on reception and others highly unexpected. They are highly unresponsive even if you remind them many times. Very costly, provide only 500ml water per person for 24 hrs. Very poor and highly expensive transport arrangement they provide. Second time Best experience in this resort. Peaceful and positive vibes around the property where one can relax with sound of water. All Veg items Delicious. Scenic beauty and tranquility. Balcony rooms are best . Cool weather . Cooperative staff.

First things first- Dont take ground floor rooms in this hotel. There is a major mistake in all ground floor rooms especially the rooms without balcony. They have huge glass window overlooking outside from rooms but you can never remove curtains from the window. They have put a huge glass window from which everyone from outside can see inside. You loose all your privacy. So you can never keep the curtains open which is a big shame. The glass should be such that only people living inside can see outside but not vice-versa. The weather was warm at the resort and there was no feeling of hill station. There is no fault of Resort in this but Palampur as a location has disappointed us because we were expecting colder weather. Thirdly we paid around 7000 per night for our rooms but there are basic things like a small fridge is not provided in rooms. There is nothing special about the hotel except the river front. Honestly river front is good but hotel has nothing to do with it. Infact hotel has not done anything to make it more special. There is no activity around river front except 2 small made up restaurant tables. You can go in the river but one cant spend more than 1-2 hours in the river. There is absolutely nothing for the kids in hotel. They got extremely bored. For one or two night stays this is a great property but if you are staying longer like we did you will get bored. The breakfast spread for the price we have paid is too less. There were like 3 things only everyday with one can have. I have no problems with it but kids didn't like it. Finally you cant put this resort in family resort category. There was loud music played in some rooms with rooms doors open even after 10 PM on which hotel management said nothing to room occupants. I understand that people are there to enjoy but hotel management should think about other guests too. Some private groups did DJ party at the public locations of the Resort due to which other people have lost access to those spots. Staff of the hotel is very very good. Everyone try to provide excellent service and they never said no to anything. That is one thing we love about Himachal hospitality and this is what keep us bringing back to Himachal. Food is also very good at the hotel restaurant. It is bit expensive but that is ok when you are on holiday. Some portions can be increased for the price they charge specially starters. I will not go back to this resort again in summers because of Palampur weather and also I felt that hotel should have done more for the price they have charged us for the room. Hotel knows that they are at a great location due to which they can priced themselves high but long holiday guests need more privacy and also more recreation.
