Quaint century old residence. Ensuites are refreshed with ongoing improvements with a pool construction in progress. Photos of the exterior are either very old or photo shopped as you can barely see the exterior due to the beautiful, lush gardens. Staff are keen to assist but some are not very good with English but display the usual, incredible Sri Lankan hospitality

This place is truly charming - a step back in time (with all the modern conveniences!). We stayed in one of the large front rooms on the main house, decorated with lovely classic furniture and double tall ceilings, and it was very comfortable. Breakfast on the lawn with a view over Kandy, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, and the lake was delicious and plentiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made our stay memorable. Being outside the city proper meant a quiet, peaceful rest in the evenings, but you are still close enough to walk down the hill into town (maybe 8-10 minutes). There is a private apartment with an infinity pool that looks absolutely decadent!

The most exquisite boutique hotel, once a colonial bungalow. The winding driveway sets the scene, for what lies ahead nestled in the hillside. We were warmly greeted with a refreshing watermelon drink. Our room had a wonderful four poster bed, with crisp linen and comfy pillows. Evening dinner was served by candlelight outside on the verandah overlooking the Kandy Lake and Temple of the tooth! With the hustle and bustle of Kandy city down below. Special mention to Chamindu and Hiruna who were the most attentive waiters, of which nothing was too much trouble, helpful and very professional. Clean, beautifully decorated with well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. Breakfast either English or Sri Lankan can be served inside at the grand dining table or outside on the terrace. Had a great stay! Fantastic service throughout, Akila was an absolute star! Would highly recommend. Only downside was our room seemed to be newly constructed, and there were a few minor issues that needed to be fixed. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of Kandy.

This is small hotel (only 4 rooms) in a colonial house set in a beautiful garden. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel is not well managed and maintained, which basically destroys the whole appeal of the property. There were a number of issues with our room: -some mold on the walls (see picture), with the odor that goes with it, most likely coming from a leak on the roof. We asked for another room, but the problem was the same -the sink faucet is not well fixed -the shower drain is clogged -there was also a security hazard with a power outlet very close to the shower (see picture) In addition to that, we were waken up at 7h00 by construction workers making a lot of noise. While we had breakfast, it was basically the same circus… Also to note, the place has not swimming pool and no restaurant. In a nutshell, the place would have a lot of potential if it was well maintained and managed, but at the moment it is not worth the money.

I choose this hotel because I love history, art deco and colonial architecture. Well what a spoil this place is, I feel like I stepped back in time and was in a movie. So beautiful the view, the service and staff are simply divine so happy to help or assist at the drop of a hat, the food was absolutely delicious also. I’m a vegetarian and they made me the most beautiful Sri Lankan vegetarian feast. The grounds are very well kept and the view to the temple of tooth was perfect. 10 out of 5 stars ✨ thank you so much to the staff and caretakers of this beautiful historical jewel 💎
