This would have been an easy 4-star stay if not for a couple of issues: The bathroom/toilet lock wasn’t working. Since we were a family, we didn’t complain and managed, but this could be a dealbreaker for some. The bathroom dustbin knob was broken, so I had to lift the lid manually to throw things away. We stayed in Room 304 during the last week of January for just one night. Here’s our take on the positives and negatives: Positives ✅ Location – Right in the middle of the main city. If you're active and fit, you can easily walk to Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Tooth Relic in about 10 minutes. Plenty of eateries and stores around. ✅ The Room – Clean room and bathroom, fresh towels, a mini fridge (though empty), a spacious almirah, chairs, and a kettle for hot water. ✅ Breakfast – The staff made our breakfast experience great, even with a limited menu. We got eggs, fruits, juice, coffee, and some Sri Lankan cuisine—perfect to start the day! ✅ Wi-Fi – Decent and worked fine for us. We didn’t try the TV. There’s also a lift for easy access to rooms. ✅ The Staff – Very welcoming and friendly. Deen at the restaurant knew Hindi, which was an added bonus. Manju at the reception was super helpful. Negatives 🚫 Apart from the two issues mentioned earlier, here are a few more things to keep in mind: There’s no restaurant in the hotel. Plastic bags in the dustbins would have been useful. The room felt quite dull at night—could definitely use some brighter lighting. However, in the morning, it felt much more pleasant and comfortable. Final Verdict Overall, this was a good choice for a one-night stay. If the minor issues are fixed, it could easily be a solid 4-star experience!
