Aswadduma Hotel

We had an absolutely amazing time at Turnpike Lodge. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. The only disappointing thing was that the pillows were very thick and firm. I would have liked softer ones. Other than that, I can’t fault the place and will definitely go back.

The most dreadful and uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had was during my stay at this hotel. A group of about 30 of us had booked a full board “Deluxe,” “Deluxe Superior room,” and Executive Suite package. Despite we checked in lately, our rooms weren’t ready. Even the staff didn’t know where our rooms were, and the main door locks weren’t secure and locked well. When we booked, we requested to change our double room to a triple room (for 3 elders), but upon arrival, they had only added an extra bed (the extra bed was also broken even can’t sit in there) and didn't provide towels, toothbrushes, or any other essentials for three people. Describing my worst experiences in detail would be too lengthy, so I’m listing them. • Dinner buffet was not arranged until 10.30 PM. And the Lunch buffet was not arranged till 1.45 PM. • The food was really awful, not tasty and there weren’t many varieties. We only had dhal, chicken, and polsambola. For dessert, there was just melted ice cream, half-melted jelly, and some papaya pieces. • Rooms were dusted, not cleaned and maintained. • AC, TV, and Jacuzzi, showers were not working • Rats and frogs were in the rooms. • When we booked the hotel, we requested to arrange a BBQ from 7. PM. But the chef even didn’t know about it. • Very disappointed with the hotel's management. Most of the staff seemed to be newly hired. • While we booking the hotel a one lady (Amandi) so-called manager was contact with us and told us miracles about the hotel. But the experiences were worse and terrible. So don’t believe the wording of them. **** If u want to waste money and time Aswadduma is the best place for u..........*****

You might be tempted with the photos provided in internet. The same thing happened to us and made the huge mistake of ignoring the reviews provided here. All the rooms had at least one defect, AC didn't work. showers do not operate, beds are broken. Staff is naïve where all most all of them have no experience since most of them have joined very recently and their first job. GM is helpless with the continuous customer complaints. Worst part is food, they will promise you a international buffet with variety of cuisines at the time of booking but provide a food which you can access in a 'roti kade' at your areas junction. But taste would be worse than such a joint even. Restaurant is filled with flies and inside rooms you can get real forest experience with frogs. Pool and outdoor jacuzzi might tempt you with photos but the actual experience is way off. There is no electricity, total hotel is being powered using a generator and thus rooms are gloomy with very low lux levels. The hotel is being under construction and most of the common areas are inaccessible. We were disappointed to such a degree that even though we were checking in at late night we were compelled to look for other options nearby and save the trip for ourselves.

I saw this place by facebook and i did some research before i came here, first there were some good and bad reviews to be honest but the place was so beautiful in the pictures , After reading a mix of both good and bad reviews, I decided to take a chance on Aswadduma Hotel, drawn in by the stunning pictures of the hotel and its surroundings. My decision turned out to be a great one, as the hotel has recently come under new management and the improvements are remarkable. Everything is now running smoothly and perfectly. The staff at Aswadduma Hotel were exceptionally friendly and provided amazing service throughout my stay. The hotel is located in a charming village, right in front of the beautiful Kandalama Reservoir and nestled in the heart of the Kandalama jungle. The location is incredibly peaceful and picturesque, offering a perfect retreat into nature. One of the highlights of my stay was the chance to see various wild animals in their natural habitat. This place truly is a hidden gem for nature lovers. The hotel also features a huge swimming pool and a luxurious jacuzzi pool, which were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. During my visit, some adventure activities were still under construction, but I'm sure that once completed, these activities will add an exciting dimension to the guest experience. For those planning to visit soon, there will be even more to enjoy. The ambiance of the hotel gave me a unique vibe, almost like living in the jungle. It was a refreshing and invigorating experience. Overall, Aswadduma Hotel is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Thank you so much for providing me with such a memorable experience. Keep up the fantastic work!
