We booked for a Rose Deluxe Sea View Room 22-29 June. We appreciated that it had been renovated, was located on the 7th floor, and featured a walk-in shower. 1. They advertised it as a sea view room, but in reality, it was just a side sea view, quite small for a 5-hotel standard. 2. The bathroom was uncomfortably small, you have to turn sideways to enter and access the shower or toilet. They provide bathrobes, but there is nowhere to hang them! The basin is so small that every time you turn on the water, it splashes everywhere. There are no hooks, no shelves, nothing to place your belongings on, and the basin counter cannot be used by being so tiny. No soap holder in shower. We asked for a small table to be placed underneath the basin, they ignored us completely. 3. For three consecutive days, housekeeping was minimal and the room was barely tidied. Towels tossed on the bed, dirty cups, the bed was merely made. One day it was not even done at 2:00pm. When we complained, they justified the situation by saying that there were new maids who didn’t know the job. Honestly, an unacceptable excuse for a hotel pretending to be a 5-star one. 4. The restaurant had no air conditioning, making the environment unbearable. It wasn’t until our fifth day that they finally set up the terrace, offering only partial relief. When we asked about the AC, the staff simply shrugged and gave a dismissive response that it was broken. 5. The air conditioning in the room was virtually non-existent. 6. We enquired about the lunch boxes, and the staff looked at us as if we were pretending something absurd, questioning where we had even seen such information. It was clearly stated on their own website, then they said they had not boxes. First time a 5-star hotel is not offering this possibility to its guests. 7. No 24 hours service. A 5-star hotel is expected to have a bar or at least a coffee area open at all times, this was not the case. All inclusive service ending at 11:30pm. Luckily there was a water dispenser in the pool bar where you can fill your bottles in. 8. No towels or water fountain in the open air gym (which was one of the few positive aspects of this hotel). 9. Safe box closed upon arrival, never happened before. 10. The food was not up to 5-star standards, lacking both in quality and quantity. That said, the pizza served at lunch, prepared in a wood-burning oven, as well as the gyros and crepes, were good. The themed open-air restaurant was also decent, guests are only allowed to dine there once per week/stay. 11. The water served in the restaurant (from the dispenser) was lukewarm, and no ice was available. 12. The parking area was often occupied by construction vehicles, as two floors of the hotel are still closed and under refurbishment. At times, it was difficult to find a spot during the day. 13. Reception was, in most cases, useless, even though the two young ladies at least attempted to help.
