Amada Colossos Resort

This was an amazing resort, the staff were super friendly and it was all really nice & clean. The Mountain View from our room was great during sunset. The waterpark was a lot of fun, even for adults. The buffet food wasn’t amazing for vegetarians, but went down really well for my partner who ate meat. I think map or better signage would be helpful to show where all the amenities are as well as the schedule for the activities/shows.

Every thing has been good until our last day we had to check out at 11am even though we wasn’t due to leave until 8pm so they gave us a courtesy room for 30 mins which I am grateful for however the room was a disgrace other peoples rubbish and sopping wet towels all over the floor every where was wet so the whole room was a slipping hazard there was black and orange mould everywhere in the shower and then our balcony which was some how communal having a door access from the hall way and another room so anybody can access which I wasn’t aware my poor girlfriend got undressed to have a shower and two men walked passed our window and saw her you might be thinking why didn’t I close the curtain it had been ripped off the ceiling so I called reception and complained and someone was right up with another room key so we moved rooms and the same again it was a scum pit rubbish on the floor towels every where bloody splattered flem in the toilet so I came down to complain and the old lady behind the counter said “what do you expect people use these rooms just to shower “ no apology and I was just waved away absolute disgrace we had such a nice holiday but that ruined it for us

Firstly, we did enjoy our stay, the room was nice, we had a sea view room with sliding doors as we were with our teenage son. Inside the room we had a Fridge, kettle, bath, shower, and loo,... there were doors on the loo and the shower, but otherwise open plan. Nice balcony with a stunning view. Nice bar areas, and a la carte restaurants. lovely clean hotel The reason I say this isn't a five star, is because there are just a few niggles that i personally felt needed sorting, but nonetheless, niggles I wouldn't expect from a 5 star hotel, such as,.... no teaspoons to stir your tea and coffee in the buffet, which is really bizzare, yet offered in the coffee shop! Refills of soap/shampoo aren't checked, we had to chase up as we had run out, along with milk and sugar which isn't always replenished in the room, air conditioning doesnt go lower than 22, there isnt any aircon in the lifts either. Also, there aren't enough staff manning the bars, and you can be waiting ages for a drink, however the beach bar is great, manned by two brothers,who are fab, no queues there. I would also expect drinks service on the beach or round the pool for a 5 star, but that doesn't happen. Also, the hotel focuses on re useable plastic glasses for drinks, but soft drinks are given in paper cup which is a bit strange? The sunbed situation which many people have commented on does mean, you generally can't get round the pool, BUT, there are loads on the beach, mere steps away from the pool, shown in my photo with the arrow from beach to pool, and its much less congested, I do however feel the sunbeds could do with replacing (many are broken), to more upmarket cushioned sunbeds, again, what you would expect from 5 star. The beach towels from the towel station, are also a bit thin and threadbare and could do with replacing. The water park is nice, except 2 of the slides weren't open for the whole week. Another issue for me,was you can't get little bottles water from any of the bar areas, also a little bizzare. There are water stations to fill up your cup, but I'd rather have a small bottle of BOTTLED water. Again just my opinion. Branded ice cream/lollies are not included in the AI package, and the spirits are not branded either. Cocktails were nice but not strong if that's what you're expecting. What really did it for me however, and despite the above, this would be my sole reason for not returning to the hotel, is that there is nothing outside of the hotel, to walk to etc. and that's our fault for not researching properly, but that said you can get taxis into Faliraki, Lindos and Rhodes old Town, all of which we did. There is a great water taxi that goes from the beach to Lindos, a great morning trip round the cute little alleyways of Lindos. All in all a lovely stay, but sort the little niggles out and this would be a true 5 star.
