Its serene. Feel like home. It does not give the feeling that we are in a hotel as it is in the midst of a big property surrendered with greenary all around. Friendly staff (Jayanthi and Dilshan in perticular) and mouthwatering food is the top highlight.

The waiter banujan was so friendly and helpful. He helped us in choosing the food from the menu. He was so attentive. The environment was so peaceful and so beautiful . The food was so delicious and tasteful. The view was so beautiful and nice.

We loved everything about this hotel, great pool, amazing atmosphere, convenient location, we booked 3 Rooms very clean and beautiful bed arrangement and restaurant staff very kind and thay did good service family friendly, and most of all the staff, they did everything to provide us a comfortable and welcoming stay. Special thanks to Mr Adi for going above and beyond to help us.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

We stayed there 16/ sep / 2024 with family location is great, pool was nice , house we stayed Ac was great, lunch we had rice & curry was good , but dinner I order grilled prawns they were too small portions also not grilled was deep fried, also we order grilled cuttle fish very small portions & this is the first time I’ve seen such small portions serving to customers for my last 20 years hotel career,,then we had veg noodle , that was cheap maggi noodles even we do not use for home, not value for money , service delay due to lack of staff, but server was very friendly, food standards need to improve a lot , location was great Prabhath Chef ireland

When we arrived, we were immediately taken by the setting, by the lagoon, sorrounded by coconut trees and banana trees, birds chirping, pretty colonial style reception and bar area. There is also a brand new restaurant and function room building behond the bar. However, upon being shown to our chalet we were immediatly disappointed. It was old and tired, in need of some serious refurbishment. Doors and windows wouldn't shut properly, locks were stiff of not lined up so they couldn't be locked at all. Light switches 6ft up on the bathroom wall useless for my wife and children, no drinks making facility in the room. The beds were comfortable enough but thee not enough pillows, the ones we had were as flat as pancakes. The tired failities extended to the swimming pool, one end of it closed off and the rest had cracked and missing tiles, which my youngest cut her foot on. When i told the staff they didn't really seem to be bothered that she had injured herself. Unless they spend some time and effort renovating this place i would not visit again, shame, because the setting is perfect.

Nice and quite place, clean rooms, good food and friendly and smily staff. One negtive thing that MUST BE IMPROVED: there is a lack of prifessionalism at the restaurant, in taking orders and serving food. Lots of waiters but not organized, mixing orders of 2 rooms. 25’ to get a bottle of water at breakfast and almost 1h to get a milkshake at dinner. A chance there were not a lot of guests... Also mixing bills for the 2 rooms when check-out.

I went for lunch at this hotel and found the food to be quite good. The restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating. After lunch, I took a walk around the hotel grounds, but I was disappointed by the behavior of the garden worker- called Sivakumar towards guests. Their approach seemed disrespectful and unprofessional. This experience makes me hesitant to revisit this place in the future."

Riviera never disappoints on food and great service. The food potion sizes are very generous, and full of flavour. I especially loved that the hot ginger tea/coffee potions comes in a flask with a very generous serving! The staff are extremely helpful and accomodating. The overall ambiance is very relaxing with the large garden space and amazing view of the lagoon at night. The location is also very central to the major sights of Batticaloa. Some of the rooms are shipping containers turned into rooms, which is pretty neat in terms of sustainable construction! The hotel organizes lagoon cruises for a reasonable rate, including at night when the "singing mermaids of Kallady Bridge" are supposed to be heard!

This place is a gem. It is quiet hidden away along some narrow lanes but lies in a beautiful location overlooking the lagoon with stunning sunsets. Extremely friendly and service minded staff make you feel welcome and will do all they can to help. The food was excellent. The hotel is attractively designed and often used for wedding functions. We loved the open air in the dining area. Our rooms were basic and comfortable, the outdoor garden is well kept and full of trees which eagles often roost in. A model train enthusiast has his model railway on site which is a thrill to see, even for adults! It was very quiet when we were there.

Terrible staff wit worst attitude, one lady name Jayanthi who act as the Maneger ruin the name of the hospitality...she does know only shows her attitude towards the guests...thisbisbthe worst and terrible service we ever had travelling as a family....not worth for money and rooms are not clean enough to stay for a human all the staff are same as Manager Jayanthi......very very bad experience I ever had...

Very poor capacity for dinning. Poor staff hospitality. This is the only restaurant May be taken 2-3 hours for the orders. I will not recommend this for anyone for their stay or dinning though their perfect location

Stayed for 3 nights here and i really love the hotel and the lagoon view. A/C rooms needs a bit of maintenance but not a concern at all. I really Loved the food they serve here which is reasonably priced. bar is an added advantage here where you can enjoy your sprits overlooking the lagoon with some tasty seafood snacks. The staff was so very friendly and helpful. This is the second time im staying in this hotel and would recommend this hotel for people who is visit Batticaloa.
