Vienna International Hotel (Jiangmen Kaiping Branch)

We originally booked for 8 nights here, but after one night, we couldn’t stand but to cancel.  When we arrived, staffs were friendly, at least for Chinese people standards (Chinese myself, so I know).  Our first complaint was that our room smells like cigarettes.  We got received our room fairly quick, and we didn’t get an option to choose smoking room or not (yes, customers can smoke in certain rooms).  When we arrived our room, we immediately smelled cigarette smell everywhere in the room; because we are not smokers, so we are more sensitive to the smell.  The cigarette smell is so bad here, where the elevator smells like it, our floor smells like it, basically everywhere we went smells like it; except the first floor where the reception is.  Second complaint was that you cannot control your AC/Heater of your room.  We didn’t know that, so we turned our AC on, and it just kept getting hotter and hotter, where at one point, our room reached 30 degrees Celsius.  Third complaint was when we reported a faulted hair dryer (so hot that it felt like a heat gun to melt things), they said just wait for it to cool down and try again…  That’s when I gave them the list of complaints and they said nothing they can do about it except bring me a different hair dryer (after calling them 3 times at the interval of 15 minutes); then we had to wait another 10 minutes for a hairdryer.  When we requested to switch a nonsmoking room, they weren’t willing to accommodate us, stating there were no rooms at all.  I would like to give them benefit of the doubt, but this is Kaiping, we know damn well their rooms are not filled, also you can easily check online.  Either or, we requested refund and went to a different hotel.  Would not recommend and would not come back.

The hotel is very clean; and the staffs are very friendly and accommodating. Also, the location is quite convenient.

I was really well treated and the staff were professional and polite. The buffet style breakfast is very very good. The room is spacious and the bathroom is spacious and clean. The self service and free laundry equipment is LG commercial series is the amenity that I like most.

This is a new hotel, opened about one year ago. The room is nice & modern with electronic drapes, electronic toilet etc…If you ask for water, a cute robot will deliver the bottled water for you. It is walking distance to the largest, best mall in 開平。 I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

Breakfast Review: Blended options might not cater to all palates, but overall satisfaction shines through. Overall Impression: For a clean, comfortable, and conveniently equipped stay in modern surroundings, Vienna International delivers. Be prepared for a short walk to dining options, but the in-house convenience store helps bridge the gap. Recommendation: Definitely worth considering for a Jiangmen stay, especially if modern amenities and cleanliness are high priorities.
