Four Points by Sheraton Juneau

We missed our flight to Seattle to make the cruise ship so the airlines sent us to Juneau to get on at the first stop and this hotel was awesome !! Right by the port and the restaurant and bar was awesome !! Great service , great staff, if I ever fly in to Juneau I’ll b staying there!!

All staffs were very kind and room was clean and perfect. I had a great time in Juneau! Highly recommend here!

Be very careful if you book this hotel. They are ruthless, show no compassion, hide behind there cancellation fine print, and could not care less about a genuine situation. Such as gale force weather, cancelled flights and 100 percent concerns about the safety of their potential guests. Every other hotel understood the situation, gave a refund, even the airlines did the same. This hotel took not just the first night costs, but every night we were booked.

The view and the location are the only positives of this hotel. What the photos don’t show is how dated this place is or that it smells like musty old carpet and stale smoke that they attempt to cover up with overly strong plug ins in the hallways. It smells like a smoker with too much perfume. The bed was too soft for two people to share. I spent the whole night tipped sideways like sharing an air mattress with a heavier person. Pillows are lumpy when you lay down and flat as a pancake by morning. When I booked this place there was a restaurant advertised but no such thing when we checked in. The room was mostly clean but there was quite a bit of hair in the corners when we checked in. On our last morning the cleaning lady barged right into our room without knocking, several hours before our checkout time. Front desk staff was polite when we checked in but on second night the front desk girl was eating takeout with her friends at the tables in the lobby when we stopped by to buy bottled waters. This is not the kind of facility or service I would expect from Marriott or Sheraton. In fact for the same $500/night we stayed in much nicer hotels on the Vegas *****. I get that Juneau is remote and a tourist town but this is ridiculous. We would not stay here again.

Was here for the Celebration 2024, it was a great location because it was right in the middle of where everything is. The rooms are very quiet, the beds are comfortable too. I did enjoy being able to be within walking distance to coffee shops and being not having a rental car everything is within walking distance. There is also a grocery store about 10-15 min walk from the hotel. The Front Desk staff at check-in was friendly.

The hotel's lobby exudes a charming ambiance, offering a breathtaking view of the surroundings. The staff members are exceptionally friendly and always ready to assist. We had an incredible experience hiking at the Mendenhall Glacier, which was just a $42 trip from the hotel.

Hotel is on the older side but very clean. Not open for breakfast, but they give you a paper bag with a water bottle and some snacks at check in. Juneau is so small that any location is a good one, and I found the bed comfortable. Updated furnishings, tech and a full service restaurant would improve the experience, but I managed just fine. My only real complaint were all the homeless people who stand outside the door and immediately panhandle as soon as you walk outside… not sure if the hotel can fix this or not, just a sign of the times.

I guess my expectations were high for a $300+ per night hotel in a state capital that is also a beautiful tourist destination, but it IS branded as a Four Points, not a Ritz. I will say that the location of the property is good; it's a short walk to downtown coffee shops and a few restaurants, the cruise ship pier, state office buildings, bus terminal, etc. It's right across the street from the water, the parking was free and convenient, and there is a mail box in the covered drive up area in front of the hotel entrance. The employees were nice and the rollaway we requested was in our room and ready when we checked in. As for my disappointments, the heat in our 2nd floor room didn't seem to work well (it was below freezing in January, so I set the thermostat for 76-80, but the actual temperature in the room remained at 71 during our entire stay -- felt like 61; I slept wearing my sweatshirt). The hotel had no private business area for our 0600 conference call, the sports restaurant/bar next to the lobby is apparently not affiliated with the hotel and was not open for breakfast, we did not receive maid service for any of the four days/nights that we were there, and the water in the shower/tub was lukewarm three of the four mornings that we were there. I'm just surprised/sorry that there is not a single property in the Hilton family in the entire area/region to give this "Four Points by Sheraton" (Marriott family) a little competitive spirit so they might up their game a bit.

I had to stay here for business and I do realize that Juneau has not too many hotels to offer. The hotel is good and they have an in house sports bar with excellent food. The room looked a bit dated but had all the amenities. The bed was excellent. After all we book a hotel to rest in and to freshen up and not to sit in the room all day. So yes I will be booking there again if I need to stay in Juneau
