Songyun No.1 Hotel (Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area)

Pro: Location is too good. Few minute walk to jiuzhaigou. Nearby has a nice restaurant. The bed has the heater bed and the room has heater aircon (a bit slow to get warm because outside was very cold). cons: The toilet is soso, no seperate dry and wet so when you showered, the toilet seat will be wet especially worsen when it’s cold. Even though they provide a slipper but slipper is also wet. The towel is one time usage so it’s thin and because it’s cold, the water level is very low for the toilet. If you don’t mind, it’s still worth for the price because this hotel location is 10/10.

The location is good. But hotel cleanliness is not the best - the bed sheets, wall and surfaces in toilet had clear stains, there was also dust in many areas. The basin tap is shaky, the shower water pressure was very very small, heating system was either too hot or too cold, no in between, I couldn’t have a proper shower. In the morning the hot water was basically not working at all I can’t wash my hands & face without freezing. The heating from the A/C system was also not effective, I still had to wear 3 layers to sleep even after setting the temperature to 30degree Celsius. There was also a power outage at night. There is no do not disturb sign/option so the staff entered my room twice before I could check out.

Great location, easy walk to scenic area. Service is poor and the amenities are below standard, including disposable towels, watered down hand soap and shower products only filled to 10%. With the expected level of complaints I’m sure they will stop trying to save money in the future.

The original room given was terrible! First the key card didn’t open the room door - had to go down to the reception to get it fixed. Eventuality got the door open to find that the inner part of the door handle/lock was loose, the room smell, plaster was flaky and coming off at the bottom of walls, and there was a big big gap between the door frame that and the wall. Went down to the reception again to complain and the receptionist wasn’t very happy. She said all those things should not affect our sleep in the room. She very reluctantly changed the room after I insisted on it. The replacement room wasn’t much better. It was bigger as it was a family room, but there was still plaster coming off at the bottom of walls. There was no gap between the door frame and the wall, but the window wouldn’t close so the room was freezing cold. It was a very bad experience!
