Fairfield Inn Richmond

Beautiful facility near the expressway. The driveway is unmarked and a bit difficult to find in the dark. If you turn too soon, you’ll end up in the parking lot of the gas station next door, but there is a cut through that will allow you to get to the hotel. If you miss it and go too far, you’ll have to drive across the Indiana state line, do a U-turn and try again. Fortunately, it’s less than a mile.

Very friendly staff. Room was spacious and very clean! Beds were comfortable. Nice pool area. Breakfast was good. Decaf coffee was "warm" and bacon was a little undercook, however, nice breakfast selection. Convenient location right off the interstate.

Great place!! Hot tub was great!! Very clean not sure if it just was remodeled or new but very modern and clean! Beds were comfortable staff very helpful stay away from Iron skillet. Get food somewhere else . Breakfast was free they had eggs oatmeal and yogurt. Fresh fruit

First, the good part: This hotel is just barely in OH at the stateline adjacent to Richmond IN and at the I-70 exit for US 40. When I have a choice, I prefer not to spend my money in Indiana. This hotel provides a decent place to stop while travelling through. I've stayed here before. Meets my basic criteria of cleanliness, a comfortable bed, working TV & WiFI, and acceptable breakfast. The craziest thing was the new mini-fridge. First, I literally needed to get on my hands and knees to read the instructions and put my few items in it. It sits on the floor inside cabinetry. Then I found it has an "ON" button deep inside which lets it run for 2 hours! If you need to keep something cold all night, set your alarm to wake periodically to reset it. I knocked off a point for this stupidity. I understand the value of energy conservation. But the hotel would have saved more energy by not running the electic waffle griddle hot all day. Here as in many hotels, "eco-friendly" seems to equate to minimizing labor costs: disposable plates and cups, not having cleaning staff turn off unused mini-fridges, less laundry washing. One more point that may be relevant for others: There is a truckstop on the east side of the property, which might bother you.

While not an unpleasant stay, this property carries minimalist to a new extreme (if that's not an oxymoron) . The hotel is partly in renovation, according to signs posted throughout, but no evidence of that during our stay), but our room was ready and rather spacious. So spacious, in fact, that a sofa, work table, or additional chair could have fit easily, but none were provided, just a big empty space. Breakfast was quite minimal -- only two cold cereal types, and not much selection. Staff was friendly and helpful. An acceptable, average, property.

I checked in late on a Sunday evening. I travel a decent amount, so I know hotels have cut back on housekeeping, but I still hate it. On Monday morning, I asked for housekeeping for the room and was informed that it’s only offered every other day. I was staying for 3 nights, so I sighed and accepted the new reality of hotels post-Covid. The next morning I tidied up a bit, put my towels on the floor, and left for the day expecting housekeeping to stop by. When I got back to the room later that evening, nothing had been done, and now the towel I had been using was on the floor all day. I find this unacceptable.

My wife and I almost always stay at Marriot properties when we travel. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was good, parking is free, the internet was amazingly fast, and when we woke up to 2 inches of unexpected snow, we were given a snow brush to clean off our car. The building itself is a little time worn and is currently undergoing refurbishing.

A good clean facility, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Close to restaurants and gasoline, and just off the interstate. It’s an older property, and shows some wear and tear, but the staff informed that management is getting ready to begin renovating. I’d stay here again.

This was a very nice chain hotel. It was clean and quiet. It had a comparatively great breakfast but had no half and half — only non dairy creamer. I would have given it 5 stars but for have that non dairy stuff. So I’m just putting in feller to complete my 200 characters.
