Ramgarh Lodge, Jaipur – Ihcl SeleQtions

I booked a room at the Ramgarh Lodge for November 15th-16th. However, the Taj computer system was clearly defective and modified the dates of our stay to October 16th-17th. When we arrived at the hotel and checked in, I was told I had to pay for an additional night. The hotel is far from Jaipur; therefore, I had no other option but agree, while I was definitely not responsible for this unjust error. In addition, to add insult to injury, I was charged a higher rate than my initial reservation. This place is also nothing like what is advertised. It’s in poor condition. Our room was on the third floor without elevator access. The whole building is very loud as every sound echoes. The beds are uncomfortable (hard mattress). This property is, simply put, mediocre at best. I will make sure to never stay here again.

We had an enjoyable stay. The rooms were really good, food and service too. Only disappointment was the terrible state of the road leading up to it. It was lovely to be in lush green Rajasthan during monsoons and it rained every two hours. The service in particular was warm. Only thing was that there was a delay in our lunch because there was another large group that arrived during lunch time. However they more than made up for it.

Fantastic service, great food and a peaceful location... Ramgarh Lodge is the perfect weekend getaway. We stayed there for three nights in August for a family holiday, and the excellent staff went out of their way to make our stay special. The chef accomodated our every request and the food, especially the Rajasthani cuisine, was incredible. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. The gardens were capacious and the Lodge offers lots of games and sports like table tennis and billiards, which we greatly enjoyed. Access is slightly tough, the last 14 km to the resort are riddled with potholes but the gorgeous forested Aravallis are worth it! All in all, I'd highly recommend Ramgarh Lodge to travellers seeking a luxe, serene retreat from everyday life. Many thanks to Jagat Singh and his team for such good hospitality.
