Great Fortune Design Hotel & Spa

First of all, facilities of hotel were terrible: the entrance stairs are steep and dangerous, one can easily fall. If we arrive to hotel first day, the staff did not take a notice of us out and we had to wait a long time for check-in. Communication with the staff was difficult because they never gave any reliable and accurate information on any of my questions: they have been asked to send invoice for the hotel by e-mail that they promised to do), so far this has not been done although it was promised - they do not keep their promises. Breakfast was below any expectations - poor choice of food, quality and appearance of food - not inviting at all. Also the tables were so worn out that they looked very dirty. One day the room wasn't cleaned - when we asked to clean, our wish was again ignored. Location is good. Value for money is absolutely no. Overall we are not happy with the hotel, waiting so far the bill for the hotel stay.

first impressions were not the best, it’s not a 4 star hotel and breakfast was terrible, I would take crossiants and bread they have baguettes for breakfast, and teabags, however the staff are very friendly that’s what made our stay pleasant and amazing, they were helpful and always willing to help from the moment you walk in to the hotel, special thanks to Shah who looked after us and other staff members sorry don’t know there names, spa was ok, not brilliant but I have to recommend ambika and badal who were brilliant. Location was perfect, About 8 minutes away from Blu mosque and grand bazar, there’s quite a few places to eat our favourite place for breakfast was MIVAN, down the hill from the hotel and Ortaklor restaurant up the hill from the hotel definitely would recommend and also T cafe on the way to grand bazaar, would definitely stay in the Fatih location again!

We visited this hotel a few days ago.. I can say that I was really caught up with the following comments and wondered why they wrote these or we are the ones who are irrational. We had a traumatic experience. We were on the 6th floor, the phone in the room did not work, the heating did not work for 2 hours while we had a baby with us. The highlight was that there were cats in the hotel and specifically in the restaurant where we ate our breakfast as well as on our floor, our room was not clean and you really hated covering yourself with the blanket, you clearly pay for parking. When we were leaving I understood why all these good comments. As we were leaving they were so helpful, they spoke with such sweetness and joy, to open the door for you, everything, the absolute care, but they wanted to urge you and in front of them, in essence, to pressure you to leave a positive comment on booking. Unfortunately never again.

My feelings are mixed on this Hotel. I’d say quite good for Istanbul. The staff try very hard but it’s not professionally run. A couple of times we were told - yes we will be straight up (to fix a minor problem) and we had to ring them again. I WOULD NOT book a cruise through them ever again. The dinner cruise is head banging chuf chuf music. If that’s your thing do it. I wish we had done the shorter sunset cruise. I WOULD NOT have a spa. Masseuse unprofessional and disinterested. Breakfast ok but cold. This is not unusual for Turkey. Accommodation was quite acceptable. First room we got, the aircon didn’t work and they knew it. Typical Turks, always on the make. If you want a taxi then don’t wait for their contacts, go out on the street and flag your own. It’s quite safe and could save you up to half an hour waiting for their ‘brother’ to arrive. Finally, when you checkout they will politely stand over you to do a review. Just don’t do it.

DO NOT COME HERE STAY AWAY Very unhygienic hotel and in no way does it compare to other 4 stars this deserves at most 2 stars. Don’t believe the fake reviews. Spend your money elsewhere this hotel are scammers. They don’t give your money back when you spend 0 nights there worst hotel I’ve ever seen.
