Ashnil Samburu Camp

My wife and I have just spent five fantastic night at the Lodge. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Our tent was extremely clean and comfortable, we heard lions roaring most nights! We took advantage of the laundry service and our items were returned the same day clean and beautifully presented. The food was amazing, certainly the best we have experienced in the bush! The Lodge is actually situated in the Buffalo Springs National Reserve, and this is where our game drives took place, early morning and late afternoon. The Lodge has a nice swimming pool, and we took advantage of this after our morning drive. The tents have a small veranda where we spent time watching the camp wildlife, such as baboon and vervet monkeys, and the various birds. The game drives were brilliant. Our guide, Shukri, knew the area like the back of his hand and tried very hard to show us everything. There are great numbers of elephants and giraffe, as well as the various types of antelope. We saw lions everyday, on one occasion following three lionesses and their seven cubs walking along the road. And the unusual sight of lions up a tree, trying to catch baboons! We also had sightings of two different cheetah families, both with cubs of their own. Overall, a great experience, and if you are considering a safari I would urge you to give this Lodge considerable thought.

Our first night on a four park tour we were not sure what to expect. Loved this hotel. It is smaller than the others we stayed at and as part of that there are maybe fewer amenties. What it does offer is a real African feel with animals right across the river at both breakfast and lunch. Monkeys and its own elephant to say hello in the mornings. It turned out to be our favorite lodge. Rooms are large and well laid out and we slept well both nights. There is a small pool that was kept clean but we did not use. Food was very good and a la carte vs the buffets elsewhere. Service was personal and everyone went above and beyond especially those in the bar area Samburu also turned out to be our favorite park. It is smaller than Masai but we got to see animals within 5 mins of each drive. It also has a varied landscape and some of the best scenery of the four parks. It is a long drive so many people break the trip at the Ark. My recommendation is take the long days first drive and miss the Ark and do a park with an animal drive instead.

Fantastic Service. Courteous Staff at the Resort, helpful at all times A scenic adventure. Location is well worth it to top it all. We, as a family enjoyed the hotel / camps amenities. It's well recommended by me and will certainly visit again. Thank you Samburu Team , at Ashnil to make our stay worthwhile.

I was very impressed with the staff, hospitality service at Ashnil, Samburu. I would definitely recommend this to all. Very helpful, very polite. I will come back again. In my opinion the staff should receive bonuses. Thank You all for a wonderful service. You made us very happy.

its good with still lot of room for improvement. As communication from room to reception is a challenge, i am sure this will be improved in future as there are many more of our trips are about to come i near future it may me lot of trips to come in coming season.

It was better than our expectation. Rooms were large and cozy, had all amenities that we required. Staffs were very polite and smiling. Food was good. Swimming pool is always a bonus during this heat and it also had a children's pool. Need to put up a high viewing deck at the river front for visitors. That would be lovely
