B&B Marcantonio - Ischia Ponte

Staying with Catherine and David was such a warm and enjoyable experience, I cannot understate how much their role played into our joy of visiting the beautiful island of Ischia. From the moment we arrived their efforts to make sure we were comfortable and well aquainted with the property and surrounding area was a first class experience. As a family we felt invited and appreciated as well as accommodated for our individual wants and needs. Catherine and David also offer breakfast, this is a must do and is one of the most enjoyed meals we had during our stay. We were overwhelmed at the high quality of ingredients (much of which was from their garden) and quality of preparation. Additionally, having a multigenerational Ischian family help us in deciding what to do and where to go was invaluable, we felt like we had the inside scoop on everything from “where is the best place to get a pastry?” to “Where should we go and on which day?” Catherine and David had fast answers that undoubtedly improved our vacation by leaps and bounds. The rooms were comfortable and inviting, clean and refreshing, all while feeling as though we were in the heart of the Ischian community.    If you are in the mood for a massage, Catherine gave what could be one of the better massages given in a lifetime of seeking out massages for an array of tight muscles and soreness in the comfort of your own room. 10 out of 10 would recommend.    Now for the most important part of our stay… Unfortunately our 4 month old baby ended up getting very sick and needed to be hospitalized. In a state of panic and fear, Catherine and David were our rock, from rushing us to the hospital and making sure we had support in the form of translation, information gathering and making sure all of our needs were met. These two beautiful people took care of us as if we were family, cancelling their own engagements to make sure we were okay. Catherine spent the entire evening with us at the hospital making sure we got the best care possible, that our dietary needs were met, and that any additional stresses put on us by being in a foreign hospital were mitigated down to a background issue. Their continued support throughout the remainder of our stay was a master class in empathy and selfless kindness. We will forever hold these amazing human beings in our hearts with great reverence. While the chances of needing medical attention on vacation is very slim, I can certainly say that there is no host better suited to make sure you are taken care of in your time of need.   Thank you Catherine and David for inviting our family into your home, your lives and for taking such good care of us, we will forever carry gratitude and love for you both and hope that we see you sooner than later.

This was a splendid large tiled very clean room near Ischia Ponte with all amenities, even his and hers bathroom basins. Fridge, tv, aircon,safe, access to superb kitchen for coffee, water etc. Beautifully designed room, big comfy bed. Breakfast was amazing on the kichen terrace. Example of a mixed sweet and savoury: pancakes, homemade jams, syrup, omelette, caponata, bread, doughnuts, coffee., 10 euros each. Well worth it. Welcome was great, with water offered after a long trip and a clear explanation of keys etc. Location was quiet and only minutes to Ischia Ponte by nearby bus (walkable in 10 mins) or Ischia Porto. Catrin e Daniella were perfect hosts. Questa era una splendida camera grande, piastrellata, molto pulita, vicino a Ischia Ponte, con tutti i comfort, anche i lavandini del bagno per lui e per lei. Frigo, tv, aria condizionata, cassaforte, accesso a una cucina superba per caffè, acqua, ecc. Camera dal design accattivante, letto grande e comodo. La colazione era fantastica sulla terrazza della cucina. Esempio di misto dolce e salato: frittelle, marmellate fatte in casa, sciroppo, frittata, caponata, pane, ciambelline, caffè., 10 euro cad. Ne vale la pena. L'accoglienza è stata fantastica, con acqua offerta dopo un lungo viaggio e una chiara spiegazione delle chiavi, ecc. La posizione era tranquilla e a pochi minuti da Ischia Ponte con l'autobus vicino (raggiungibile in 10 minuti) o Ischia Porto. Catrin e Daniella erano dei padroni di casa perfetti.

SERVICE: This place make you feel like home. The owners spoke English very well for living on the island their whole life. We were a family of 4 from Canada and didn't speak a word of Italian. They were very accommodating to our needs; they helped us with taxi's, restaurant choices and things to do on the island with 2 young kids. FOOD: They made us cappuccino, bruschetta, a frittata (an omelette) every morning using the eggs, tomatoes, and basil from their garden/chickens. The kids ate croissants with Nutella and some of the local fruit they grew on the property. ROOMS: Our family rented the 2 bedroom unit. Rooms were big , air conditioning was cold and the shower temp was always hot. KITCHEN: We were allowed to share this massive kitchen to prepare lunches, pack picnics or have a late night snack. PATIO: The patio was huge. Loved drinking your morning coffee or having a glass of wine before bed. Since your on the 3rd floor you have great view of the castle! LOCATION: We were walking distance to everything we needed. A supermarket to stock the fridge, a beach for the kids, shops to purchase souvenirs, restaurants, cafes and my kids favorite the gelato shops.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo B&B incantevole, immerso nel verde e a due passi dal castello Aragonese. La posizione è perfetta: centrale ma silenziosa, ideale per rilassarsi dopo una giornata di mare. I proprietari Davide e Catrin sono stati estremamente gentili e disponibili, sempre pronti a dare consigli utili sull’isola. Le camere sono pulitissime, arredate con gusto e dotate di tutti i comfort necessari per sentirsi come a casa. La colazione è stata una vera coccola: ricca, varia e davvero buonissima, con prodotti freschi e fatti al momento. Un posto che consigliamo con entusiasmo e dove torneremo volentieri!

B&B Marcantonio consigliatissimo! , lo staff molto professionale con ottima cura dei dettagli, stanze pulitissime, sempre pronti a soddisfare ogni esigenza. Colazione molto abbondante con prodotti freschi e tipici del territorio. Ti faranno sentire come a “Casa Tua” ❤️
