Riverside Lodge Hotel

The sink in the bathroom was clogged and didn't get fixed, but the room is spacious and the quality of sleep was okay. i would still recommend it.

Our stay was amazing the room was lovely and cosy. The house wine we bought was awful and I missed black pudding at breakfast (normal Scottish fair) would thoroughly recommend staying again.

Having previously stayed at the riverside lodge (and recommended it to family and friends, some of whom subsequently stayed there), we were disappointed on our last stay. On arrival at 3pm our room wasn’t ready, we didn’t have too long to wait but on entering the room we found the entrance hall and bathroom/toilet area wet having just been mopped. The shower rail in the bathroom was rusty and the head kept dropping down ………. An email to management and the reply said the rail had been replaced however it didn’t get like that overnight surely it’s not up to guests to point this out.! The meal at night wasn’t as good as last time, my husband’s roast beef was tough and my gammon was at best lukewarm ……….management said they had no other complaints that night!! Breakfast was awful no coffee in the machine, fried eggs atrocious, potato scone so overcooked I could hardly cut it, scrambled eggs cold……… management said the buffet is regularly checked and temperature checked ……. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Needless to say we won’t be returning

We have been going to the Riverside Lodge Hotel for many years for an overnight stay with dinner & breakfast and we always felt we were getting good value for money - but not anymore. It now costs £129 for our usual deal which used to be a LOT less. The dinner menu is even more restricted than before with very little choice and then to add surcharges on is just so disappointing to say the least. The haggis starter was delicious but the pasta l had was well-overcooked & soggy. Unfortunately you’re just not getting the breakfast set up right at all after all these years…running out of clean cups & plates, tea, hot water, pastries etc & customers having to wait. Then there’s the buffet food - where some items are cold. To add insult to injury, I ordered a glass of Chardonnay to have with my dinner and it was £9.95! I googled the cost of the wine in the room (included in the £129) and it was £3.49! The staff are pleasant & efficient. The room is comfortable and clean. There is a nice atmosphere about the place. We always enjoyed the overall Riverside Lodge Hotel experience but l’m so sad to say we won’t be back.

The hotel is beautiful and absolutely spotless. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was really good..portions are excellent..so much so I sadly couldn't manage to finish my dessert. I booked through my hotel break..excellent deal. We booked to go again as it was lovely.

We booked for 2 nights but unfortunately we only stayed 1 night due to family circumstances,but we were very pleased with with the hotel,service,food,rooms and staff were very friendly, I will definitely come back and I've already recommended it to family.

Don't believe all the reviews you read about this hotel lovely staff excellent location, once you suss it out, staff lovely, room was 4 star plus, evening meal was above par, and bar prices were reasonable. We were only on a hotel break deal but ar £99 for dbbem and a bottle of wine you can't complain.

Stayed here yesterday we had a great time hotel was lovely the lounge area and dining room where well laid out and a lot of attention to detail has been used. We had rooms 207/208 large rooms spotless and well equipped with tea coffee shower gel etc. Staff were friendly and attentive and we would certainly visit again. I don’t understand the negative reviews that have been posted.
