We chose to stay here for a one night stay, on our way to an event in Shrewsbury, and to add another night to our weekend away. The Swan pub was once an 18th century malt house, so the room was a bit quirky and reflected the age of the property, but it was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a large en-suite and tea & coffee etc provided in the room. We didn't actually use the shower, so can't comment on how good it was. Nor did we eat or drink in the pub, as we prefered the menu at the sister pub next door (The Malthouse, which we have stayed in before and would have again, but the Swan was much cheaper!) The rooms have their own entrance to the car park, so you can come and go outside of the pub opening times. The car park is quite small and a bit tatty, but we managed to get a space when we arrived. There is also street parking and a public car park nearby if the pub car park is full though. Our room had a nice view of the river across the road, and the outside drinking area, but we didn't experience any noise from the pub at all. Having said that, we spent the evening at the pub next door as they had a really good live band playing, and the Swan was close to closing time when we returned to the room! We had a large family room with a double and a single bed in the room and it was very spacious. The bed was a little soft for our liking, but that's just personal preference and we slept ok. We would definitely stay here again, if the price was as reasonable as it was this time.
