Initially, our stay at Flisvos was great. We had 8 people across 3 rooms, all of which were basic but standard - a toilet didn't work, no hot water ran, 2 lights were broken and an AC unit leaked all over a bed, but these were minor complaints which were seen to. However on our third night, a ceiling literally collapsed. This was a shared ceiling/floor of 2 of the rooms and so we had to cram 7 people into a 4-bed room; with no space I took the sofa in the hall, despite the danger of anyone being able to reach me (the front door of the hotel had no lock). There was no emergency contact so I had to wait until 9:30 for the owner to turn up to explain what had happened. He seemed unfazed even saying that this had happened before. He tried to insist that the room above the broken ceiling need not be vacated as there was no visible damage - an incredibly unsafe money-grabbing move. He also offered no explanation or support to the members of our group when they asked how and why this happened, even shouting at one of us. Furthermore, whilst I was showering in a spare room (after vacating the broken one) just putting shower gel onto a large ceramic shelf snapped the screw in the wall, causing it to slide and fall, smashing by my foot. I showed him this and showed how I could crumble When it came time to pay, he told us it was cash only. I pointed out the part of their page on Hostelworld which said credit and debit were both accepted. He presented a card machine flashing "network error" so we had to spend ~£30 just to take out cash from an ATM. This was okay as we were only paying for one room for a few nights. However our friend had an ~£800 balance which would have cost over £100 to take out. This was also for the two rooms which had the structural damage. We had to insist that he give a discount to make up for the lost night's sleep and damage caused by the ceiling falling through, something he pushed back against for ages.
