Oceanstone Seaside Resort

The location of the resort was great and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food at the Rhubarb restaurant was average as were the on site breakfasts. Nice features include our own fire pit with fresh ingredients stacked campfire wood and a food service for day picnics or for bbqing. The cabins were OK, nothing special. Perhaps a bit rustic but they were comfortable for our party of 4. My sense is the resort is trying to be a 5* player but right now only batting 3*. We did not try the spa which looks like it could be close to a 5* facility.

The Spa offers a beautiful oceanfront setting and a relaxing thermal cycle experience—when conditions are ideal. The pools are well-maintained, and the coastal views create a serene atmosphere. However, on the rainy day we visited, the experience took a hit. Staff didn’t take extra care in maintaining rest areas—benches and loungers were soaked, and robes and towels ended up uncomfortably wet. The poorly designed, overcrowded change rooms added to the stress, making transitions feel more chaotic than calming. The spa was also too busy, with many guests not following the 15-minute thermal cycle rule, staying too long in hot or rest areas and disrupting the intended flow. Staff didn’t appear to be monitoring this, which made it harder to fully enjoy the experience. Checkout was similarly frustrating, with only one payment terminal available, adding an unnecessary delay at the end of the visit. Visit during off-peak hours and fair weather for the best chance at true relaxation.

The spa is great BUT the online booking system is terrible and hard to get appts booked and find out availability. Forget about reaching anyone at the desk, rings and leave message only and lucky if you get a call back or an email returned to book

We stayed at Oceanstone over the long weekend for a work team-building event, and it was absolutely perfect! The property has everything you need for a relaxing getaway—an amazing spa, charming accommodations, stunning ocean views, and delicious food. The main lodge was ideal for hosting large group functions and activities, making it a fantastic spot for team events. Highly recommend!

Stayed two nights in Hollyhock 3. Comfortable bed, great soaker tub and nice little deck with view of the ocean. Attended a wedding - lovely venue. The kitchen was well appointed and at check-in they offered us a bag of ice which was a nice touch. The wrap around deck at the main lodge was great for the guests of the wedding to spill outside from the dancing!

We went to celebrate our 36th anniversary. The information provided upon booking the spa was clear that phones were not allowed in the spa area. That was impressed upon us again when we checked in. So, I was shocked when the first thing I saw when I left the change room was a man pacing the pool deck speaking loudly on his phone. We soon found out he was one of a group attending a wedding the next day and using their spa time to pre-game the festivities, complete with profanity. One woman even exclaimed how at other spas she had attended, people were expected to be quiet. The change rooms were spotless and the facilities were very nice. Towels and robes were excellent. In other circumstances it would have been a relaxing spa experience. We each ordered one drink from the spa bar and enjoyed the fresh juice. Upon leaving, the attendant was confused about our method of payment and attempted to charge us for drinks we did not order nor drink. I have tried to address my concerns with the manager four times, but have not yet been successful. This is a lovely facility and we enjoyed ourselves, but it was not the quiet, relaxing experience we were expecting.
