Stayed overnight in Mar 25. Room was lovely, everything you could need was provided , enjoyed evening meal and chatting to Paul & Lorinda who were very welcoming hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Good hearty breakfast Close to high street and not too far to the harbour. Would highly recommend

Very warm and friendly welcome, Lorinda showed us to our room which had recently been decorated and explained everything we needed to know. Room was a lovely size with a separate dressing area and small fridge which was handy for fresh milk. The breakfast was lovely and they made sure we had a full vegetarian option. Paul was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. The Hotel was very homely. Also free parking was available.

Lovely little hotel ,we had the top floor family room and we really enjoyed it Definitely recommend if you want to sleep well and relax Nice little gem in ilfracombe about 2minutes from the front ideal for newly married couples or families who want a quiet getaway x Many thanks and we’re see you again D.

I stayed at the Darnley Hotel with my family at the end of August. The owners are lovely people who made sure that our stay was enjoyable. I believe that we should support family-run businesses. The room was very clean with comfortable beds and home-made breakfast delicious.

My boyfriend and I came to this hotel for an afternoon tea, We had a lovely welcome, a beautiful selection of sandwiches, warm scones with Jane and cream. Topped off with two yummy cakes. We couldn’t manage it all so one of the cakes were packed up for us to takeaway. I would highly recommend if in the area.

We stayed in a lovely room with an excellent view. The breakfast was all you could wish for - fruit, cereal, and a good choice of cooked food. The hotel is within walking distance of the town and harbour where there is plenty to see and a number of places to eat. Ilfracombe is a great place to stay if you want to explore the surrounding coast and countryside.

The rooms was clean and comfortable. The manager responds to messages quickly. However, it felt more of a guest house than a hotel. In room tea/coffee things were in a shared hall, breakfast is only offered for a short window of time, and will not be changed. We had a 9am boat to catch and she could not provide breakfast before 8am. The interior was a bit of a mess, manager advising a water leak from the neighbor. And the small garden which would have been lovely to relax in had ash trays over flowing with butts.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a Buyagift package which included 2 course dinner and bottle of wine on the first night. Paul and Lorinda were lovely hosts and we enjoyed chatting with them throughout the stay. Arrived late on the first evening due to traffic issues and were exhausted but Lorinda made us very welcome, showed us to the room on the second floor (note - no lift so 4 flights of stairs) and gave us time to unwind before cooking us a very enjoyable meal. Breakfast on both mornings was also lovely with a good selection. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable with a good view out over the town. Paul and Lorinda both gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit the next day and we had a lovely day exploring North Devon. Overall a lovely stay.

We had an afternoon tea here for 9 people. The sandwiches and cakes were lovely and fresh, tea and fresh coffee also. The hosts were very accommodating, very nice people. Our group had an area in the garden. Would recommend if you’re in the area.
