Hotel El Patio

I stayed 4 nights with my family in the little villa Balcón del Teide. The two-bedroom villa is in the middle of the banana fields. A breathtaking view on backside (banana fields) and the frontside the Atlantic Ocean. Don’t expect ultimate luxury, but the hardware is good. The price vs quality is more than fair. Let me summarize the pros and the conts Pro’s • The view and the privacy • The big private pool and big estate • Amazing region with a lot of authentic good restaurant. Conts • Basic bathroom • No complementary cleaning during stay (eur 50,- additional cleaing) • Breakfast is good, but don’t expect too much We will come back one day!

We stayed in Balcon el Patio which was a a lovely villa about 800 m from hotel. It is private and quiet but we all would have preferred to stay in the hotel which is full of character with lovely seating areas and nice pool and such an easy relaxed atmosphere. Taxi service is very good to the town of Garachico which has lots of lovely restaurants. Watching and learning about the bananas was fun. make sure if you go you take the long road from south airport. The drive over the mountains is very scary.

Had the perfect stay here in November. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, booking taxis for us and giving us some great recommendations for the local area. The area is so peaceful, pool and tennis court are great. Excellent value and would definitely recommend!!

Just back from five days at El Patio. Like many of us, we book these places on websites with fingers quietly crossed behind our backs in the hope that the images we see and the reviews we read are real; at El Patio, for us, they most certainly were. If peace, quiet, tranquility, nature, colour, light, history, personal service, and quality with fuss or pretension is your thing, then El Patio may work for you like it did for us. Thoroughly recommended.

There is really very little to say that isn't positive about our stay here. 5 minutes drive to the beautiful Garachico, set in acres of banana plantation along the wild northern coast of Tenerife, the reception staff were available till 9pm, there was ample, secure parking and even some diy cooking facilities. Hotel Rural El Patio seemed to attract mature couples rather than family groups which meant the vibe was relaxed and peaceful, without the inconsiderate antics of teenagers or feral kids. Oddly, our only misgiving was around the breakfast buffet which, though impressively extensive, dispensed coffee which needed an upgrade and juice which I would have expected to be fresh rather than out of a carton. This is a small niggle and the fact that the selection changed each day meant that there would always be something to tickle the tastebuds. As for our room, it was spacious with a wonderful open roof, good wi-fi and hot water that was usually plentiful once it had worked its way through the pipes. The heated towel rail meant that towels didn't need to be replaced because they stayed damp and the only fail of the daily servicing was not replacing the shampoo which is a tribute to the quality of the overall experience. Oh, and the pool was lovely, with towels available from reception. All in all, we would love to return one day.

Cet hôtel, situé dans une palmeraie, est plein de charme et de tranquillité. L’hôtel, une vieille hacienda du 16e siècle, est superbe et confortablement aménagé. Le personnel est d’une grande gentillesse. Il est aussi très discret. L’environnement rural contribue à la poésie du séjour. Bref nous avons beaucoup aimé et nous recommandons vivement cet établissement.
