Discovered nicer / cleaner hotels that were cheaper very near.

We couldn't get into our favorite motel nearby this one and were not too impressed with this Quality Inn. It just seems a little dated and needs better attention to its breakfast buffet. No one should put out old black bananas as their fruit option. But rooms were OK for one night. The motel location is good though for visiting the CIA and many other sites around Hyde Park.

The hotel has lousy service. I wanted to complain about the noise in the hallway to the long-haired lady at the front desk until I realized she was making all the noise, entertaining her friends on the premises. They manipulate prices at will and don't even bother to clean the room properly. There was hair all over the bathroom and tub. Not recommended despite the nice location.

The Quality Inn Hyde Park is always my choice of hotel every year since I started volunteering for the Sinterklaas parade. The rooms are always clean, the staff is always friendly to me and the beds are amazing. I got one of the best night's sleep I had in weeks (lots of stress at work) and it was just nice to decompress and relax here. The breakfasts in the small dining room are simple and nice, They had run out of eggs and sausage that morning but I like their waffles and head to them first. The mix they use is excellent and I always have the perfect waffle. It is a nice way to start the day. I like to get the rooms with the view of the woods. It is nice to wake up looking at the sun rise and the field in the back. Overall the stay was wonderful and I will be back again next time I am in the area.

We stayed here a few years back. It wasnt fancy butbit was clean. Not any more! Stay away from this place! The bathroom sink had a film of what looked like black soot and the bathroom was dirty I ended up getting cleaning supplies, from the guy at the front desk, and cleaning the bathroom myself since they only had double rooms to move us into and that wouldnt work. The free breakfast looked like old sausage, white bread for toast and a dew muffins. We went to Dunkin.

ReservationDesk.com and ReservationCounter,com are SCAMS! Online they say they charge no cancellation fee but, in fact, they will not cancel and will not refund any payment at all. At no time during the phone booking are you told that your reservation is non-refundable. When the reservation paper work arrives in email, THEN and ONLY THEN are you informed that you will never get your money back ever, no matter what. Totally outrageous business practices.

The hotel was better than expected. It is a good choice if you are visiting the nearby CIA, The FDR Estate, Rheinbeck and more. I loved the price point and location. My room was clean and comfortable. It felt a bit tight but I had a king sized bed. There was the usual adequate simple self serve breakfast. I had the make it yourself waffle, apple juice and hot chocolate.

I had initially wanted to stay further north but there was no availability at several other hotels. This one came up with fairly good reviews. I was underwhelmed. The room was stale and musty smelling (I ran out to Dollar Store and bought a air freshener). Upon entering the bathroom a rag was hanging on the doorknob and I returned it to the front desk. Sigh. The bathroom is not fully accessible as the shower required a step up and over (a regular tub with a flexible hose attachment), Mirror was not suitable for wheelchair and while there were bars and grips the toilet paper was impossible to reach (even for able bodied). Only switches that were low enough to reach in a chair were in bathroom. No privacy peephole at wheelchair level. Toilet ran all the time. Closet was nonfunctional and the smoke detector hung down from ceiling. Bedside table had a box of condoms in the drawer!! Overall room was tired and dingy. Breakfast was very basic and all over the place were handwritten notes for 'juice broken', "Plz don't touch buttons" etc. Doors in and out had numerous fraying papers affixed. Very cluttered and not welcoming. Saturday night of my stay the tv did not work but I didn't realize this until I was in for the night. Desk person came and fiddled with it and then replaced it. I was very uncomfortable having him in my room. The next morning it did not work again so I left early for the road. No channel guide or directions available.

Nice clean QUIET! Exactly across the road from FDR house. Breakfast was basic but for the price was a good buy. Nice location, down the road from the CIA. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
