Steigenberger Makadi

Our first adults only holiday and not let down. Went in May and will be returning in January and March 2025. Our room was spacious and a view over the golf course. The room was kept spotless by our housekeeper. Breakfast had so many choices and we sat outside every morning. Abdullah made sure our coffee cups were always full. Lunch was down by the pool and plenty to choose from, they will modify any dish to suit your requirements. Evening meals was buffet style but also has a la carte choices and always something cooking outside on the bbq. Mahmood who ran the restaurants ensured the service was top notch. The pool area was clean and plenty of sunbeds and shade if needed. The two pool boys made sure everything was kept clean and tidy, they also offered to clean your sunglasses every morning if they were dirty. This was a great time to have a talk with them. Whalid who brought the drinks to you around the the pool worked exceptionally hard, always with a smile and plenty of humour. Adel in the main bar looked after us well. Sameh who worked in the restaurants and bar would send me back to sit down so that our drinks could be brought to us. We cannot wait to return in January to see all the staff again and have a relaxing holiday. Ian and Nicky

I booked this particular Hotel in November, the main reason was myself and my partner are very keen golfers, due to the horrid weather here in the UK, we decided on a winter sunshine break. I had already studied all the very positive reviews, which make for great reading, however until you experience a holdiay for yourself you are always a little unsure. All I will say the week holiday we have just returned from exceeded all of our expectations. The Hotel was amazing, the food simply unbeatable from any other holiday I have experienced. The staff were wonderful, and the Golf simply outstanding,along with great evening entertainment, this all made for a very memorable and relaxing holiday. I now understand why so many people come back year after year and we will now become a regular at this particular hotel. If I could give this 10 stars I would. Regards Mark & Alison.

We have just returned from a week’s stay here and we had a fantastic time. As other reviewers have said, the staff were all amazing - so attentive, friendly and polite. They keep the hotel immaculately clean - communal areas and rooms included. Excellent selection of food at each mealtime. We returned late one evening from Cairo and missed dinner, but the team were kind enough to deliver some food to the room for us. Loved the evening entertainment - the saxophonist and singing duet really stand out in my memory. Always plenty of space to relax by the pool in both shady and sunny areas. Pool is slightly heated too which was a nice change to some ice-cold ones I’ve experienced in the past! One thing to note - the majority of hotel guests were older than us (we are mid-30’s, they were 50/60+). One guest even commented (in jest) that we were “too young to be here!” Although that didn’t matter to us, I did want to bring it to others’ attention in case it did - it’s certainly not a “party” spot... Back to the fantastic team. Special thanks go to - - Khaled in the kitchen for making me a custom heart-shaped pancake most mornings! - Hassan for taking us wherever we needed to go…in a golf buggy! - Reda for greeting us with a smile at every mealtime - Vivien in guest relations for being so kind and polite - Ivy for the best massages at the spa! Although everyone was brilliant, those are just some that stood out to us and made our holiday extra special. Our fourth visit to Steigenberger Makadi, this probably speaks for itself. A small, intimate hotel where you have the opportunity to get to know staff personally. As always, the staff looked after us wonderfully. The golf course was in very good condition, and golf staff were incredibly helpful. The good news was that the service was still of a very high standard, as was the food. The WIFI situation is much better I am pleased to report. We were initially placed in a twin room, having booked a double. The front desk did agree to move us. However, the room we were relocated to was right next to the staff and cleaners storerooms. In addition, the hotel service road was adjacent to our balcony. Not ideal. It meant we were woken very early every day. As a number of guests have already said, the rooms would definitely benefit from an update. All in all, it was another enjoyable holiday. We would definitely consider returning if a programme of room decoration took place.

From arrival to our departure the team at the hotel could not do enough for us. Rooms were large and immaculate and attention to detail was given. Ever day a small arrangement or gift was left on our bed. Food was really good and cooked in front of you with BBQ each night outside. Whalid by he pool was just amazing.

Absolutely top notch. One of the best hotel experience ever. Every member of staff was ready to go an extra mile to ensure our good time. Nothing was ever problem for them. We would like to thank you everyone from the garden/golf course workers to general manager, I will just use two names of our excellent waiter Abd-ullah (sorry if misspelled ) and barman Adel but it would be endless list. Spotless clean, exceptional customer care, great food (very good chefs) and excellent room. We normally never plan to go back to the same place as is still so many to visit but my wife already is planning to go back in February.
