We used Horsley Lodge for my mother’s funeral reception as she loved a nice hotel and we needed somewhere as a family to stay. We had quite particular requirements from the vintage mismatched china for the cream tea buffet to the sixties playlist and somewhere to put the two boards of photographs and memory table. Laura, Ed and the rest of the team couldn’t have been more kind and helpful. They moved furniture until it was just right, set out the tables beautifully, liaised with Bardill’s for the flower delivery, greeted the guests and were lovely with the small children. We have decided to make Horsley Lodge an annual stay with all the family to celebrate my mum’s birthday. She was very fussy about hotels and would have loved it here!

What a lovely hotel and restaurant, stayed for one night we had warm weather all day as the storms came later Saturday evening which was spectacular to watch from the restaurant while we ate our evening meal and sipped our merlot. We also met the chef Lee who was lovely and cooked our meal which was faultless, also all staff members we met were kind and helpful. We had a standard room which was warm and comfortable really good night's sleep. We will definitely return one day in the future, thank you all keep up the good work.

Me and my partner got married here after viewing a few local venues, we settled on Horsley Lodge, on the day the staff were more then accommodating the food was excellent, they even allowed us to use a golf buggy to help get the elderly down to the lake for the photo's. It was a small wedding, less then 30 people in the daytime, but how it was all set up, it was wonderful. we had 3 tables and a top table and used the recommended decorations lady, she was excellent and it was set up much better then what i was thinking it would have been. We used the house DJ and we added a option for karaoke which went down a hit, lots of people got up in the evening even though there were less then 50 people. Overall, i have no intention to get married a second time, but would recommend this venue to anyone that asked me.

Laura and her team made our anniversary event a day to remember. From the first contact though to the event itself the preparation, menu and service was faultless. A lovely setting with accommodation added to the experience. Wholeheartedly recommended for that special day. Thank you!

We had our wedding at Horsley lodge on the 26th August, and we’re still in our little post wedding bubble. From the very beginning Laura was amazing! She catered to our every need, and helped us navigate one of the most stressful times with ease; she made it so much less stressful and got every detail spot on. The actual day was amazing, the resident DJ, decorations, and photographer were more than we could ask for and together everyone made the wedding everything we wanted! The food was gorgeous and there was so much of it! If I could redo the whole wedding I’d 1000% pick Horsley lodge again, especially as there’s so many wedding photo opportunities throughout the venue. So thank you for everyone at Horsley lodge that was part of our wedding.

Where do I start , back in early 2024 we had our original venue went into liquidation but one call to Laura and Horsley Lodge proved to be fate as they had a cancellation for our wedding date. From our first meeting to our check out we were looked after and had a dream wedding. The accommodation , food , staff and the service were excellent and well organised. Always had a quick response to any calls, email or enquiries in the lead up. We were made to feel like nothing was too much trouble. Our wedding party of over 60 all eat in the restaurant the night before and had amazing food. We had every room in the hotel for guests they were all taken care of and looked after. The wedding day itself was prefect from start to finish. I can’t express our thanks enough to the wedding team and all the staff. Value for money and 5 star treatment ❤️ we will be back for anniversaries and meals in the future this really is a special place.

We got married here 11 years ago and had the best day however when we got given a voucher for an afternoon tea here as a surprise it was a totally disappointing experience. The place was lovely although building work was being done but no disruption. The afternoon tea however was very disappointing. The sandwiches were obviously made hours before we got there with no covers on them as they were very dry. No choice so we either had to eat the sandwiches with fillings we didn’t like or go without. Service was next to non existing. Would definitely not be going back or recommend. So disappointed

Attended many times before & lunch been excellent, however yesterday 4 of us went for lunch which was very disappointing . no fresh vegetables whatsoever, very small portions, hardly anything on plate. The taste was ok but more batter than fish although steak was ok. Pie of the day was also ok but a small dish of mushy peas was the only other item on plate for 3 of the meals. Very unimpressed with the whole meal. cost of meal far to expensive for the amount offered. Will not be going again, will find elsewhere to go. New management in our opinion will be the losers.

We had our Golden Wedding Anniversary lunch here, in the Atrium, which is a lovely, bright room, with a courtyard. Laura was very helpful with all the arrangements and with setting up; the service from other staff on the day was excellent. We appreciated the use of a large TV to play a slideshow. We ordered from a private dining menu which had lovely choices and the teenagers were able to have adult sized portions from the children’s menu, which was much appreciated! The welcome drinks, food, wine and service were all very good. We had a lovely time and were very happy overall, so can thoroughly recommend.
