The room was great, very comfortable and well equipped but the highlight was the Guest Services Associate Mark P. I arrived after multiple flights, no luggage and early. He welcomed me warmly and made me feel comfortable immediately and was able to get me into a room. Answered all my questions and gave me information about things to see. I would go back just for the customer service alone!

Not sure why this is rated a 2-star hotel. I'd give it a 4-star level. It is a vacation club (timeshare) so it does not have the array of restaurants and bars, but for a timeshare it is loaded with amenities. Our suite has a nice living room with dining table and microwave and a separate bedroom. The bathroom was innovative, spacious and large. Separate tub and adjoining shower. Japanese style Toto modern toilet. Other amenities: Free laundry machines on two floors. Ultra modern and large capacity. Infinity pool on top level 8 BBQ grills and bar/grill at pool Bellman Longe with coffee and nice lounge chairs Ritz-Carlton style service

The property comes across as refurbished rather than new; from the entrance with the huge POST in the entrance way to the less than ideal room view 25% on Ocean view, to poorly designed bathroom ( large) but the shower/ tub design is odd to say the least and no door for the toilet. Kitchen doesn’t have stovetop or cooktop and the room looks more like an IKEA decor; even less desirable is the Owner’s Lounge that contains NOTHING. This is a nice Hotel Room but certainly doesn’t rank a Marriott Vacation Club Resort despite the rate with other hotels of greater value close by. The location is great making it the most valued. Pros: Most of the staff we encountered were fantastic. We had a good check in experience. Good location. About a ten minute walk to the beach. Room is clean. Balcony door does open; there is standing room to peek out and see downtown. Cons: No hot tub and no shade at the pool. They stated it’s because of wind on the roof, but a small permanent shade structure could help. The shade is off to the side, down stairs so it is difficult if you have children swimming. No oven or stove (or hot plate). Our room had a microwave, dishwasher, and rice cooker. The kitchen is why we chose a vacation club, but we had to eat most meals out. The toilet is in a small closet in the bathroom but doesn’t have a door. The hotel didn’t have any chairs or umbrellas you could borrow for the beach, like the other Marriott down the road. Such a perk when you aren’t “beach front.” Lastly, we booked through the Bonvoy app which stated all taxes and fees were included. The hotel charged us 300$ in taxes and fees upon check out. I’ve included a screenshot below in case it can save others from getting stuck with a bigger bill than they expected upon check out. When we raised it with management, they just kept sending us a folio bill. It didn’t seem transparent.
