Hong Kong New York Guest House (TST Metro H Exit)

Værelset er lidt lille, men det er i centrum af Tsim Sha Tsui, nær metroindgangen, meget bekvemt til rejser, ejerinden er meget gæstfri, det anbefales at blive her, det er praktisk og sikkert 👍

Jeg brugte det, når jeg rejste fra Japan til Hong Kong. Det er meget attraktivt at kunne få adgang til Tsim Sha Tsui Station og Tsim Sha Tsui East Station på mindre end 2 minutter til fods. Bygningen, hvor New York Guest House ligger, er dog ikke sikker, og når du går fra 1. sal i bygningens indgang til 7. sal i New York Guest House, vil du uundgåeligt passere gennem 1. sal, men dette 1. sal er det værste. Mistænkelige indisk touts, lugter ubeskriveligt ubehageligt. Desuden er der kun én elevator, så det kommer ikke nemt.

DON’T STAY HERE! Please, for your mental and physical health, stay somewhere else. Where do I even start? The guesthouse was a nightmare to find. It’s inside of a dingy indoor market with hundreds of people swarming and trying to sell you things. When you eventually find the elevator you’ll want to turn around and head back to the airport. The guesthouse is the 7th story of the building. When we tried to check in we were told to wait 10mins because the owner was downstairs drinking tea… We eventually got shown to the room, when the man told us that there would be no water to flush the toilet until later that night (this was around 3pm). More on this later… We began inspecting the room. Stains everywhere, hairs all over the beds, mattress had holes in it - almost as if someone cut it with a knife multiple times. Obviously we left for the day and went exploring around Hong Kong to try forget about our dire situation. When we arrived home, there was still no water to flush the toilet. In fact, the next day at 11am there was still no water for the toilet. We went to reception and told the man who told us there was water. We showed him the bathroom, and the non flushing toilet. He came back a few minutes later and started messing around with the back of the toilet and underneath the cistern. He then started accusing us of breaking the toilet and was asking us who did it😂😂😂. Absolute joke of a place. Luckily we only had to stay here for two nights. We slept in our clothes, on top of the blankets, with disposable towels covering the stains on the pillows. Nightmare. I beg you, please don’t stay here. Only positive is that it’s located beside the metro so you can leave.

Centrally strategic, highly convinient location (Chungking Mansions) that is close to everything including easy transportation (MTR and Airport Bus A21) and wonderful local food and food courts. Overstated cleanliness and nonexistent services and amenities (see attached photos). In fact, the guy who was taking care of the "hotel" was rude and unfriendly. I would not recommend this "hotel" to anyone.

The pic on the booking website seems pretty decent but when we check in, the unit was much smaller and the window is virtually non existent with the window aircon unit blocking it! So its really false advertisement to charge extra for a window unit! Another experience is the shower leakng into the tiny hallway and we had to use the tiny floor mat to soak up the water. And even away from the showers, water is sipping in from the walls near the window table area! Luckily we booked just one night. Oh, and there's only one lift servicing the hotel guestroom for the entire block of the building! So need a lot of patience waiting for the lift and also if you do not have a lot of luggage's else you won't be able to store or even open them in the tiny hallway!
