La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Holbrook Petrified Forest

Highs: Clean, with great views to the northwest. TV had hundreds of channels...handy since there is not much to see in Holbrook. Probably the "hippest" digs in Holbrook, if you're looking for that. Lows: Extremely dark room with very poor focused lighting. Ordinary noise was easily heard from adjacent rooms. Breakfast was under-stocked.

We had pre-paid for our visit and had chosen the hotel for location to see the comet on our way back to Phoenix from Santa Fe. The hotel was nice, clean, and pleasant, but right before we had arrived, the staff had accidentally given our room to some other person and instead of just being able to put us in some other room, apparently there was something so complicated about it, that 2 employees couldn't figure it out and had to call a 3rd employee and even then, it took about a half-hour to give us a room. To make it even weirder, our original room was on the 4th floor and the replacement room was also on the 4th floor. As we were finally going off to our room, one employee commented that our new room should be "nice and quiet" because it was on the 4th floor (just like our other one was). However, the new room shared a wall with housekeeping and was actually not quiet at all in the morning.

Love this place. Obviously everyone else does too. I have been here twice in the span of 6 weeks and they have a no vacancy sign on the door. Make sure to book early because they fill up quickly. Right off I40 but you don’t hear traffic noise. Good pet area and nice comfortable clean rooms.

Very nice, clean, comfortable, convenient, well-maintained, and welcoming hotel. Front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance staff are doing a great job at providing a nice place for travelers. Highly recommend and will choose this hotel again for overnight stays in the area.

Would have rated this higher, but there were some things that I didn’t like: 1) The TV did not work. The TV itself did, but the DirectTV service used by the hotel was inoperable 2) The pillows are as hard as concrete and I did not get a restful night’s sleep as a result 3) The full breakfast was ok, but nothing to write home about Given what else is in this area, this is THE place to stay in Holbrook if you are passing through. The hotel is also pet friendly and there were many folks here with their dogs.

Excellent experience! Felt like a valued guest. Very clean and spacious room. The bed was very comfortable. Felt like sleeping on a cloud. Full hot breakfast was delicious and filling. We had a great view of the landscape. Thank you for a great experience.

The stay at the hotel was nice, as usual. The problem was, we booked online and were charged a pet fee. When I arrived at the hotel, I mentioned that I didn’t know they changed their policy and charged for pets. The receptionist said they don’t charge but that the app does. She said, “I don’t know why they do that” I asked if it would be taken off and she said yes. When I checked out, I asked again that the fee be taken off and was told “it should be” and they would email my bill. It was not taken off and 4 phone calls later I finally talked to the manager who claimed that the app does the charge and she could not remove it. She was happy to give me the hotel’s direct line to book through them the next time. I called the Wyndham app customer service and was told a message would be sent to the hotel and the app management about removing the charge. Not sure why it would be sent to the hotel management if they didn’t have the ability to remove the charge. Not holding my breath for a refund.

Clean rooms, great breakfast, spacious rooms, large breakfast room. Pool was inside and was a little cool than we like but was fine when getting In and staying in. We were here for a family vacation and we got two rooms and both were great. Would stay here again.
