Hoi An Blue River Hotel

I booked at Hoi An Blue River for a double room for 5 nights. The morning after the second night, the lady owner came to me and asked me to help her: she needed me to leave the room because she had water problems and called the maintenance team to work in my room. Instead she offers me accommodation at a nearby place for the same price. It didn't seem true to me, but she said if the water system is not working will be problems in the whole villa. I moved to the location she indicated, where it is clean, but on Booking it has a lower quote and this can be seen in the services they offer. After the new check in, i came back to Blue River and told the owner that I would like to stay in her place as I stay more in Hoi An and she told me that the whole month of March is fully booked, no rooms available. The next morning I saw in the new location, another person from Blue River and asked her what she was doing here. She said she didn't understand, the owner told her she had problems with the water system. Then I understood that the Blue River owner cancels reservations made by single people. I had confirmation when searching for confirmation on Booking, I found River Blue available for an extended period in March. Notice to singles, there is a risk of being turned away and is not pleasant at all as long you choosed the accomodation for the criteria that are important to you.

Moon, the owner of Blue River Homestay was so lovely and made our stay so comfortable. She was extremely welcoming and willing to share her knowledge of the area which helped us get the most out of our trip. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you’re looking for somewhere a little quieter with a nice walk into the markets and the old town. Thank you again 😊

Blue river - 3/5. Would not recommend. We traveled as a family - 2 adults, 1 toddler, 1 baby. Pros: Clean, bright, big rooms Good bedding - fresh, clean, warm Extra blankets available Clean, fresh absorbent towels Prompt, responsive communication w hotel proprietors over whatsapp Cons: Wifi was spotty and slow on the top floor of the hotel. We felt nickel-and-dimed on everything! We have kids and got the premium room but we're still only provided 2 breakfasts. The omlettes were good with tomato and onion. If you have kids, note that choosing milk as your drink will only get you about one shot/half a small teacup of milk. None of the confectionary items (incl the water bottle) in the room are free. But none of the prices are listed. The airport pickup was expensive! 320k vnd through Blue River but 250k when we messaged people privately. The meal service - fried noodles for 60k - was literally instant noodles mostly cooked with a few slices of tomato and cucumber. So, I'd guess a markup of 45k on that.

L'hôtel est en piteux état, sdb ou rien ne fonctionne. J'ai été changé de chambres, frigo HS, etc... J'étais le seul client, la responsable a annulé ma réservation pour me la faire régler en live sans rien verser à l'agence de voyage. Aucun ménage, petit déjeuner= 1 tranche de pain décongelée et 2 oeufs...le pire de mon voyage en Asie du sud-est.
