I chose this 'Shangri-la Hohhot' hotel specifically because it offered late checkout. However, when I arrived at the hotel, they told me I had to check out at 2 PM, and if I checked out after 2 PM, they would charge me for an extra day. On trip.com, the hotel had a 'Late checkout' badge and claimed that late checkout could be arranged upon request. This was misleading. Almost all hotels in Hohhot already have checkout at 2 PM anyway. If their 2 PM checkout was considered 'late checkout,' we wouldn't have chosen this hotel. After negotiating, we finally arranged to check out at 4 PM and checked in. But the next day, they called our room repeatedly after 12 PM asking if we were going to check out soon. It seemed like they had forgotten or failed to note our agreement to check out at 4 PM. Staying at this hotel felt very stressful. I definitely won't stay here again. I don't recommend it to others.

Excellent hotel with covenient location in Hohhot, nearby tour spots and walking distance from big malls. Food is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable

We stayed 6 nights in Shangri-la Hohhot and it was a pleasant stay. Service was very good, and welcoming. I would like to appreciate specially for Ms.Linda Hai and Ms.Lillian Qing for their exceptionally good service. They were always very welcoming and full-filled our request right away. Ms.Linda even took us to meet with a local couple upon our request after her work hour was done for the day. Location was also good, walking distance to many shopping malls and dining options. Our kids enjoyed the kids play area and as well as the swimming pool. Overall, it was very nice stay. We’ll definitely come back if we come to Hohhot again.

Stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel during a transfer flight. The room's facilities are very outdated and in need of renovation. Not recommend it for business travelers. Additionally, some hotels in China require a 2000 CNY deposit without prior notice, which should be stated on booking websites.
