Tomo Safari Lodge

A small intimate lodge with a maximum of 18 guests. I stayed in one of the superior suites, each a beautiful double room, with en-suite bathroom, private outdoor patio and outdoor shower immersed in the African bush. Meals on the deck overlooking the waterhole in front of the lodge, framed by the Drakensberg in the distance, was an exceptional experience. Being on a smaller reserve allows a more individualized safari, even being able to enjoy our traditional sundowner drink on the safari vehicle next to lazy lions as the sun set behind them over Mariepskop - a sighting that will be hard to forget. Enjoyed 2 outstanding safaris, under the expert guidance of Gareth, whose skill and understanding of the animals and care for his guests, made these 2 drives amongst the best I have ever been on. Do hope I get to return again & again

Everything on our stay was wonderful! The staff extremely friendly and doing their best to make us comfortable and enjoy. The food was amazing, the rooms very cozy and the game drives were perfect, on two of them we had already seen the big five.

We had an awesome time at Tomo Safari Lodge. The staff is extremely friendly and caring, the food was super delicious. We loved our beautiful room with an outdoor shower. The whole lodge is very cozy and has a great outdoor area where you can have food, drinks or just relax and watch the animals that come across sometimes. Furthermore, we had great game drives with Josh who is a very experienced, sympathetic and adapted well to our wishes. I have rarely been on vacation in such a beautiful place and would come back anytime. A wholehearted recommendation, nothing was missing.

Our experience at Tomo Safari Lodge surpassed all expectations. Their attention to detail made our stay there so special. Every day upon our return from the game drive we were welcomed with cool cloths and drinks, which was just what we needed. We were also celebrating our belated 40th wedding anniversary and the staff went over and above - we had chilled champagne waiting for us in our room on our last evening, along with a perfect temperature bath full of petals and bath salts. Our bed was also decorated and we were given a hand written card - the occasion was made so special for us, something we’ll never forget. We also had the most knowledgeable, friendly and caring guide - Gareth, we all agreed that he was outstanding and we couldn’t have been happier or more impressed with his knowledge and guidance. We would recommend a stay at Tomo Safari Lodge to everyone.

Unbelievable experience at Tomo Safari Lodge. Every single member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. From Conny & Marco to the chefs and house keeping staff, they couldn’t do enough for us. Accommodation was great. Keegan was our guide for the drives and he was super knowledgeable, friendly and fun. We were lucky enough to see 4 of the big 5. Plus we saw leopards every day of our stay.. but our favourite was definitely the African wild dogs! The rules around number of cars/people in the vicinity of animals makes it a much more intimate experience and much better for the animals too. We’ll be recommending Tomo to everyone.

We were at home for 4 days and 4 nights, the perfect amount of time to see everything and more! Tomo is a tranquil oasis of peace in the middle of the Grater Kruger. We were pampered from our arrival to the day we left with all kind of attentions. The staff is courteous and well trained, rooms are spacious luxurious and cleaned multiple times a day, and the view from the breakfast/dinner/relax area is amazing. The game drives are the best part: customized to your wishes and desires they make for an exclusive and unforgettable experience!
