Moditlo River Lodge

Our stay at Moditlo was spectacular and wonderful. The fully equipped cabins, set in an unparalleled environment, allowed us to fully enjoy the Kruger Park experience. Our guide, Reco, and our tracker, Darek, made our safari an incredible adventure. They are very professional, friendly, and pleasant. Highly recommended!

This place is a 10 of 10. The room, the food (I’ve never thought I could enjoy it as much as I did), every part of the lodge, the entire environment by it self, and of course their people, are absolutely amazing. Junce welcomed us like we were arriving to paradise, which definitily now I can say it is. The waiters were completely professional and warm with us, and absolutely all the staff made us feel as home. Our guide Janno and trucker Derick, are just incredible in all senses and make the safari adventure turns to the next level. Not my first safari, but the best one withouth no doubt thanks to them. The full experience was just perfect. I left my heart in Moditlo River Lodge and will came back for sure. 🧡

The Moditlo lodge was one of our family’s greatest stays. It definitely exceeded our expectations as this was our first African Safari. The feeling of connection and warmth all started from our driver (Reco) and the watcher (Emdu). They were absolutely amazing. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and were able to form such a connection with us that we miss there company only a couple days after leaving them. The chef, waiters, waitresses, house keeping, and all employees played pivotal roles into making our trip a very successful one and one of our most memorable! Will definitely recommend to family, friends and more.

An absolutely magical safari experience, which exceeded our already high expectations. The driver, Jika, and tracker, Caswell, were so kind, patient, knowledgeable, protective, friendly and so funny! They listened to what we wanted on each of our 5 game drives and tailored our each 3-hour trip to deliver everything we wanted to see, along with lots of extras. Yes, we saw the Big 5 (all in one drive!!) but it was the little touches, such as explaining the importance of buffalo thorns to the local culture, sharing insights into the trees and bushes as well as the animals and birds. Buffalo FaceBook sticks in the memory as does finding water in an aardvarks digging in a dry stream bed. Thank you so much you guys! On top of that the Lodge itself was 5*. The rooms, eating areas, pool, bar and bomo were all exceptionally well presented and looked after. Our AC room was very comfortable, and so close to the bush with nyala antelope wondering past within 5m of our back window! The food was excellent and they did a great job of providing special catering for one of us who is lactose intolerant. All the staff were extremely attentive, helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Erik for keeping a particularly cheeky vervet monkey from stealing our breakfast rolls!!

Great rooms, great food, friendly and attentive staff. We had two game drives per day and within 24 hours we had already seen the big 5 and many more animals. Our guide really made an effort to get close and to see the wildlife. The wildlife was also right outside of the lodge!
