Leopard's Bend Bush Lodge

The mission statement of the lodge refers to unpretentious luxury. The lodge definitely lives up to that. A truly wonderful lodge not far from the Hoedspruit airport, so easy to get to, yet, when you are there, you feel like you are truly in the middle of the bush. The accommodation is very comfortable, the service top class and the food excellent with a chef who takes real pride in what she dishes up. The game experience is also good (big 5) with brand new game vehicles and a very knowledgeable game ranger. The lodge's desire to support conservation and real care for the environment and animals is very evident. Great value for money and well recommended for a relaxing, intimate and all-round bush experience.

Our time at Leopard's Bend was wonderfully memorable in every way. From the moment we arrived we received exceptional care from our guide Dave and tracker Golden. Even on the way to the bush lodge we came across many giraffe, zebra and springbok. The game drives were incredible every morning and evening, full of flora and fauna with sunrise and sunset views that take your breath away. We saw lions, leopards, rhinos, kudu, zebra, cheetah, waterbuck, warthogs, camelions and unusual African birds too. Seeing the animals in their natural environment at such close distances sleeping, hunting, and playing was captivating and inspired us to care even more for our environment and the conservation efforts that help these animals thrive. It was like we were the only ones exploring the area, rarely another vehicle in sight. The accommodations at the lodge were fantastic, cozy beds and spa like private indoor or outdoor showers. The staff at Leopard's Bend was accommodating and friendly attending to our needs while providing a family atmosphere. Julia, Kelly, Andy, and Darren ensured we had a spectacular evening braai in the boma with lanterns, crackling campfire and delicious food to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hopefully, we can stay in contact and return again as their vision for protecting the area and animals continues to unfold. Our stay at Leopards Bend was incredible, from the moment we arrived we felt like family. The food was delicious. Our fav part was our game drivers, we were so lucky to see the most unbelievable sightings. One highlight was spending about an hour just watching a pride of lions all come together - it was magical. If you are looking for a smaller lodge right in the heart of the bush then this is for you. Comfortable accommodation and friendly staff.

There just simply aren’t enough superlatives to describe the amazing lodge. We had the most wonderful stay, starting with the very warm welcome on arrival and then during the 3 days we were there, where nothing was too much trouble. Everything has been so carefully and meticulously thought through, with incredible attention to detail and high end furnishings to ensure the comfort of guests. Not only are the facilities and surroundings first class, you then have the amazing bush and Blue Canyon Game Reserve beyond the fence! Well, what can one say about that to do it justice? The game drives were out of this world and very informative. The kind and warm hospitality shown by the Leopards Bend staff (including the fantastic food) made for a truly unforgettable 5+ star experience, without all the pretence or fuss. They really have created something special there but more than that it was great to hear about the amazing conservation work they are doing behind the scenes to protect the wildlife for future generations. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I had an absolutely incredible time at Leopard’s Bend. The most beautiful setting in the wild bushveld with such skilled and friendly staff who are always at your beck and call. 5-star, 3 course dishes served every night, and if you’re lucky you may just hear the sound of a Lion’s roar while eating under the stars. Luxury at its finest.

What an awesome experience. We enjoyed 5 star cuisine, looked the Big 5 in the eye, relaxed with champagne around the pool and enjoyed a very knowledgeable guide on birds and wildlife. Thanks Leopards Bend for fabulous memories can’t wait to return.
