Without going into details, a mess-up occurred during check-in that left me feeling shaken and quite frankly mortified. The hotel's mistake put another guest and I in an extremely embarrassing situation and should have absolutely been avoided. The other party and i had to apologise to each other even though it was not our mistake. That said, the staff rectified the situation by re-allocating my room immediately. I appreciate them reviewing the CCTV footage within hours to understand the lapse in their operations and assured me it will not happen again. They offered me a complimentary transfer to the airport upon my check-out but I declined. While that was a nice gesture, it isnt even close to compensate the shock of what we went through. Another incident that left a bad impression was when my friend had sent me food at 530pm with my room number indicated but reception just left it there without calling my room to inform me knowing I was waiting for it as I had gone down earlier before 530pm to ask about it. When I went down to retrieve it at 645pm the staff actually said "oh nobody called you?". Infuriating as the item was meant to be refrigerated. I would like to give this hotel a lower rating based on my experience to be honest. However, the staff were earnest, sincere and trying their best to navigate in this new hotel and I think they are on the right track because they have great attitude. This hotel is tastefully furnished, very conveniently located and clean. I hope to see them do well and believe they have the potential to be one of the best hotel in hcmc the next time I return.
