Stayed overnight and dined at the restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. While the initial server was helpful and accommodating, things quickly went downhill. My friend ordered a gluten-free burger, which was mistakenly served with chips that were not gluten-free. When we asked about it, the second server had no idea if the meal contained gluten, so it had to be sent back for a new one to be prepared. My meal, the Hunter's Chicken, was another letdown. It was supposed to come with chips and I paid extra for garlic ciabatta. However, it arrived without chips, and I only received two small slices of ciabatta. To make matters worse, the chicken was served in a puddle of water, which was quite unappetizing. From our table, we could see into the kitchen, and we noticed the chef cooking while wearing earphones. This is a clear health and safety issue and likely contributed to the poor communication about the gluten-free meal. After these issues, I asked to speak with the manager. The first server apologised profusely, and the manager issued a full refund, which we appreciated. We decided to leave and have dinner elsewhere. Sadly, our stay at the hotel was also problematic. The shower head in our bathroom was dripping continuously all night, and there was a loud air vent outside our window that kept going off, making it difficult to sleep. The next morning, when I went to check out, no one was at the reception desk. Despite ringing the bell and waiting, no one appeared, so I had to leave the key in a letterbox, unable to speak to anyone about our concerns. Overall, our experience was disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel or restaurant to others. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future guests.
