Tropical House - Jungleside Villa

Only the worst place I have stayed in Sri Lanka. German lady who owns the property, don’t expect true Sri Lankan hospitality their. She doesn’t allow local people to book the hotel. People who worked their treated as slaves and pay 1500 lkr per day no food. You get unfiltered water, dirty towels plus there is no tea bags anything or cattle in the room. Beds are quite high, our washroom was blocked. We had stressful situation all the time.

We got two rooms: one double and one triple. The triple room was awesome and very spacious. It was calm, quiet, and relaxing. Our 2-year-old loved the room and the garden. We had rice and curry for lunch, and it was the best—the food was great! This is a very nice place to relax and hang out with your family. The only issue we had was with the pool. It starts at 5 ft deep and goes up to 6 ft. If you’re of average height and cannot swim, you can't really enjoy the pool. Also, there is no kids' pool, so we had to sit on the steps with our son for him to enjoy his pool time. I wish they had a proper kids' pool. Additionally, I wouldn't recommend their double room. It was not as spacious as the triple room, and there was a very inconvenient column in the middle. The bed was also too high, about 4 ft, making it difficult to sit on. We had to literally jump to get on the bed, which was not safe for our child. Other than that, the stay was nice.

We loved our stay here! The place is magical and truly feels like an oasis in the South. The staff and Kerstin were extremely hospitable and accommodated all our needs. The food was delicious and so so fresh! Thanks for making our stay memorable. Can’t wait to be back!
