33 Lake Terrace

This beautiful boutique hotel is situated on a lake, and has the most magnificent view I have ever experienced in my travels. The staff is very friendly, attentive and always smiling. Food was amazing, rooms are spacious, and has a beautiful infinity pool! I highly recommend this property.

We came to spend 5 days, it was one of the most amazing experiences, I don't exaggerate. The personal super kind we were so pampered. The hotel is amazing, super clean, the food uff the best in the area, we didn't want to go anywhere everything was so perfect in the hotel. Fully recommended!!

We had an amazing stay… such a wonderful location and wonderful people. This place is absolutely stunning. If you are a nature lover, a luxury lover, a food lover… this is the right place. A very unique experience in the heart of the jungle with all comfort and luxury provided. We were there with our baby and she had a lot of fun playing in the splendid gardens and in the infinite swimming pool. The rooms are divine, each has a theme. Swimming pool, gardens, terraces, and a wonderful rooftop. In the day you’ll see monkeys, varans, cameleons, lizards, birds, eagles, squirrels… in the night, frogs, butterflies, bats… They can arrange a boat tour on the lake for you, it’s very safe and stunning, we even go with our little ones, driven by a local fisherman. And you will be able to walk amongst the cinnamon trees. Other tours are available: tea plantation, mask tour, visit of the temples around, turtle beach is 5 minutes from the property. Galle is also very close… The food is freshly cooked daily and it’s really delicious… rice and curry, local fish… you’ll be delighted! if you come to Sri Lanka just don’t miss this place.

Our stay at 33 Lake Terrace was doubtless one of our most memorable hotel stays. The first thing that struck us was the hotel’s beautiful decor, thoughtfully designed to showcase local crafts and trades, from fishing to mask making. But it was the wonderful team who made our stay truly one to remember. From bat watching to fishing to delicious dinners catering to our preferences, nothing was too much trouble. We especially enjoyed a boat tour around the lake given by a local fisherman and one of the 33 Lake Terrace team. We stopped off at a cinnamon plantation and had our first taste of fresh cinnamon! The hotel is managed by the lovely Panduka, an ex-tour guide brimming with knowledge and an extremely interesting person to chat to. He looked after us very well indeed, sorting transfers and pre-flight covid tests for us, as well as waiting up for us to arrive at 2am. If you want to feel truly looked after and enjoy glorious lakeside views for a few days, look no further.

We stayed at the Hotel for 6 nights and would recommend this place to anyone who ist travelling to Sri Lanka. This was by far our favourite stay during our Holiday. The Hotel is next to quiet hikkaduwa Lake. The rooms are very spacious and all have different themes related to Sri Lanka and it's culture. We really loved the interior and the beautiful Pool. What stood out the most was the kindness with wich we were treated. Every wish was fullfilled by Manager Rajive and his friendly staff. Chef Harendra prepared a wonderful breakfast. We also had Dinner in the Hotel a couple of times and the Food was nothing but amazing. For my Birthday we even got a cake as a gift from the crew, which was not charged. The place is absolutely amazing and beautiful, but the staff is what makes it absolutely fantastic. We felt treated like family! Thank you for having us.
