The Park on Main Hotel

This inn is located perfectly for shopping and dining. Staff were very friendly, the suite was immaculately clean. Bed was comfortable, good water pressure in the shower. Large flat-screen TVs in both the sitting area and the bedroom. I was surprised that there was no desk provided for laptop use. I was disappointed to discover that there were no tables in the suite, other than on one side of the bed. No coffee table, no end tables in the sitting area, no table between the two chairs on the balcony. This leaves the guest with no place to set a cup of coffee or anything else while reading, watching TV, or sitting on the balcony. There is nothing in the suite that can be repurposed as a table (I looked). I have never encountered this before. In addition, I would suggest that if you are of a certain age, you may want to avoid rooms 301, 302, and 303. They call these "on the mezzanine floor," but they are essentially in the basement. There is no elevator to get to these rooms from the lobby, only a narrow staircase with 14 steps. You will not be able to use a luggage cart to transport your luggage. There is no route to the street to bypass stairs. If this is a potential problem for you, don't book those rooms.

We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. Our spacious room on the Mezzanine level was very large, clean and comfortable. The hotel itself has been beautifully renovated. It offers underground and street parking, and is well located with a short walk to Highlands' great restaurants. You may see that many of the reviewers on this site mention the friendliness of the staff, and we can attest that this is no exaggeration! We will stay here again on our next visit to Highlands.

Outstanding small hotel. Very nice suite with all the amenities, and the private garage parking was just one big plus. Walking distance to the town center and a number of great restaurants. Terrific staff. The best hotel experience we’ve ever had in the USA.

We checked in on a Thursday and wanted to depart the next Tuesday. The hotel told us that we could not leave a day early and expect a credit. This left a very bad taste in my mouth and I assure you, the rule of 200 will apply in my case. The accommodations themselves were OK

The Park On Main at 205 Main Street in Highlands, NC has always been delightful. We’ve come here multiple times with our pups. They have treats and water for them. The Park is impeccable. Clean and fresh, it seems like it opened yesterday. The staff is always friendly. It is easy to walk to everything in Highlands. The Park On Main is our “go to” in Highlands, NC. You will not be disappointed.

One of the BEST places we have ever stayed! Staff is top notch! Kind and so accommodating! The room was beautiful and the cleanest I have had in a long time! The bathroom was immaculate and the bed was of good quality! Won’t stay anywhere else!
