Asana Hotel

My best friend and I had a lovely experience at this hotel, although there are a lack of sunbeds the hotel is close enough to the beach that we would just walk there most days. The food was tasty and apart from being locked out of our room for one night we had a very pleasant experience. The staff were super polite, especially the bartenders. A special mention to Kostas who was always super friendly and bubbly, and he made some awesome cocktails. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Lots of issues, sewage smell around very small pool, nowhere near enough sunbeds for amount of guests, shortage of tables/chairs at evening for amount of guests also, tiny bar with one barman serving lots of guests, sub standard drinks and cocktails, poor bar snacks. Buffet food mediocre at best, cleanliness of rooms not the best, very small rooms with no storage/wardrobe. Two small water bottles provided on arrival, then you either get water at meal times or buy your own (all inclusive everywhere else ive stayed always include daily bottles of water). Shower has no bracket/holder, have to put it down or wash with one hand, our toilet also had a broken seat which had been repaired with a sticky pad ( a four star hotel should be replacing items like this not using sticky pads as a fix) Absoluetly no sound proofing in hotel, very noisy in the evenings when trying to sleep, large spaces under doors where lots of light enters room from halls and adjoining rooms and balcony, also making it difficult to relax and get a good nights sleep. Most trips you book will not pick u up at the hotel due to its location and narrow streets, instead you need to make a short 10 minute walk down to beach for pick up at a small church located there. Most of the staff were fantastic, very freindly and cheerful, but there were a few who obviously hated working at the hotel and were always miserable looking and not talkative at all. This hotel is in a good location if you plan on visiting other places on the island/doing trips/activities only 10 minute walk to bus stop or 10 minute opposite direction to beach, in my opinion i would only book here if you plan on using it as a base to do other things, i would not book this hotel if you are looking to just relax around pool with a 4 star experience, this hotel is not capable of providing this service.

Too many negatives to mention! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, book ANYWHERE else instead! I definately would NOT stay at this hotel ever again! Not even for FREE! Terrible place to stay, just awful. Book this hotel at your own peril, you have been warned!

Terrible DO NOT BOOK this hotel! Trip started off badly as transfer was nowhere to be seen on arrival. Eventually grumpy old man led us to a minibus where we sat for an hour without being told a thing. Got to hotel but we were dropped in dark lane down bottom of a dirt track and dumped with our bags! When I asked driver where the hotel was he just pointed “up there” We had no idea where it was! Walked up to hotel. No welcome or drink or any food even at 10pm. Asked if we could get something to eat as we left home at 7am was told pool bar open with snacks. Went there told no food until tomorrow. Room really small no wardrobe or chest of drawers had to live out of our suitcase as couldn’t unpack. Shower broken so hand held shower so small could hardly fit in it. Drinks diabolical all mixed with sickly coloured mixers they wouldn’t serve proseco when I asked, only if I had it in a cocktail with peach flavoured mixer said I didn’t like that but made no difference so basically a thimble full of proseco and rest sickly mixer! That is so you can’t drink too much! All drinks served in plastic beakers even wine! No main bar only very small pool bar. Noticed a man next table to us ordered a bottle of wine and was given ice bucket proper wine glass so I asked the barman why I couldn’t have a wine glass and he said “he’s paying your not!” So rude! Not enough seats around bar in evening so unable to sit outside with drink. Food choices limited but ok. Reception staff rude and ignore you. Booked a massage waited in for that but she didn’t turn up. Went to Reception they just said “she’s not coming today!” Wasted a morning waiting. No one bothered to let us know. Can’t wait to go home. Room dreadful looks over full rubbish bins with loads stray cats in it. Was not cheap holiday we paid £1200 each for a week all inclusive. Not had many drinks as so awful been out to eat as choices so limited and for sunbeds on beach £20 day! Awful place

The experience in Crete was special because of the landscapes, but I was disappointed by the hotel staff. I booked a room where I stayed alone. The agency where I bought this vacation booked me a single room. All the pictures shown are of rooms with two beds, the rooms are spacious. When I got to the room I was disappointed with what I received. The room had only one bed and a different door than the entrance. This door led to the next room, but it was locked. The first night I didn't sleep at all because through that door you could hear the neighbors who were either watching TV, you could hear everything they were talking and the extremely loud snoring. That night I couldn't solve anything because the manager had left. I contacted the agency who was surprised to see the room and they sent an email in which they clearly explain that this room does not look like the pictures and that they want it to be changed to one with a double bed. The reception denied two days in a row that they had received an email and told me that they had no more rooms anyway, they recommended that I come every day at 11 am to check availability. The email was sent on August 13, and they confirmed its receipt on August 16, and the manager told me that they understood that I didn't like the room. I mentioned that it was unacceptable to have a door between the rooms, but they told me as if it is locked it is considered a wall. I was scolded for the fact that I called the two rooms joined by a door Family Room. ("Have you seen any child in our hotel to call it Family room?", the hotel is 14+ and yes they were staying with families with children 14+). They also told me that this type of room is not presented anywhere and that they don't even have pictures of it. This room is only sold through some agencies but without pictures. The view from the room was towards the garbage, and after 3 days it was changed to one towards the courtyard of the hotel. I mention the fact that although I spoke respectfully, I was treated unprofessionally by the reception staff. The cleaning was done daily, the food was not to my taste due to the poor quality.

Nice and friendly stuff, clean rooms, nice atmosphere, fun nights, five star service, the people are very kind, always smiling, helping, and making you feel welcomed. I really recommend this hotel. Thank you for everything!!! It was a wonderful experience!
