The hotel itself was fine as I booked it last minute and it was not a first choice. I have had quite a terrible time following our stay over a spilled glass of red wine in the Bridal Suite. It did create quite a mess on a pillow case and some splatter on painted baseboard and wallpaper. I was charged $500 to my credit card on file before I was given an explanation and any evidence. In talking with the owner, I explained that I had informed the manager immediately of the spill and that I tried to clean up as best I could. The manager's email to me about the upcharge was a humiliating diatribe to include charging for repainting the baseboard which clearly could be cleaned with some bleach. In fact, upon receiving the photos of the damage, the wall paper itself, in my opinion, could also be cleaned either with steam or with a bleach solution rather than charging an egregious amount. I am willing to pay for damage that is intentional and that is clearly obvious and negative to the setting- this is not the case. Not truly a good business model nor accepting responsibility as a business owner.
