Positives : Welcome coconut drink on arrival and very quick check in . All staff are positive, smiling and respectful. Special mention to Millie who listened to our holiday hiccups and made holiday experience better. Even decorated our villa with flowers and champagne which was unexpected and wonderful. She didn’t have to do that, thank you Millie. Chef Lucky in Bar-Kuda beach bar cooks some wonderful food, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Staff behind beach bar Albert and Jessica, thank you for your warm welcome and topping them drinks up . Lifeguard at beach bar always friendly, always smiling. Island is long and very green with different birds, animals and lakes. We found that there’s lots to do here. Tennis, volleyball, water sports, ping pong, billiards, darts, etc. It also has a gym that is well equipped. Spa treatment was good and reasonably priced. You can go to local villages to explore if interested in local culture. We hired taxi/ guide for couple of hours which was enough. It was $20 per hour. Premium villa was spacious, light and in good walking distance to amenities . Jacuzzi was nice and decking at the front of the villa was large with sun beds, table and chairs. Direct access to the beach from villa was perfect. Beach was clean and waters clear. Plenty of fish to see and baby shark often comes to shore to swim around . There’s some broken corals in the water but plenty of new growth. Rocky side of the island produces some wonderful waves for pictures . Beautiful sound to listen to while eating at the restaurant. Beach cocktails party was nice touch. House DJ is very good, producing great mix adding fantastic atmosphere to the evening. Not so positives : Island is on the other side of equator so you will need to take a domestic flight, which fly 3 times a day. Somehow between resort and our tour operator communication got lost and we hadn’t been booked in for 4.30 flight and instead had to wait for 12hrs for next one at 23.20. After an easy direct flight from London it wasn’t great news, which ment a total 48 h in travel . I’m blaming both resort and our tour operator for this miscommunication. There’s 15+ cats and kittens on resort island and the only reason it’s a negative point because they are hungry and have to scavenge for food in rubbish. It’s an island and cats can’t go anywhere, surely it will be enough left overs from buffet to feed them. They are hungry and it’s negligence to leave them to breed between themselves as it will create bigger problem overtime. Canareef is a nature reserve and it’s a shame to see poor animals suffer. Housekeeping is hit and miss. In our case mostly miss . Unfortunately one keeper allocated per villa and we only found out difference when he was on his day off and different boy came to clean . What a disappointment to have a lazy keeper and forever asking him for towels and to change our bedding which in over two weeks was only changed 3 times . Bathroom floor

An absolutely amazing trip! We went for our belated honeymoon and birthday celebration. The staff is what truly makes this experience so incredible; everyone was super friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Millie, Bishnu, Indri, and Win for making this trip so memorable and relaxing. I come from a hospitality background in Switzerland and here are a few points to highlight: I highly recommend staying on the sunset side, as the sunrise side is full of reefs and difficult to swim in. If you want to be closer to the clearer beach, aim for rooms in the 500s. If you want to be close to the reception and restaurants, aim for rooms in the 100s. We changed our room to the 100s because the location was much more convenient. Also, rent a bike for the whole stay, but you can request a buggy when going to farther destinations. There are lots of mosquitoes, so make sure to bring bug spray, and of course, sunscreen. We overly packed our clothes, but it’s really unnecessary, as the place is very hot and humid. So, pack lightly! :) Lastly, it’s a must to sign up for the private tour! They’ll take you to see the dolphins and to the perfect spots for snorkeling. It's advisable to bring your own snorkeling gear and aqua shoes; renting them can incur daily charges. Drinking water is free. Also, you can upgrade to a half-board, full-board, or even all-inclusive meal plan each day (you just have to pay in advance at the cashier). We chose to include only breakfast and varied our other meals based on how we felt that day. Meera Bar offers excellent food, so dining there or opting for room service is also recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyable holiday, all the staff were friendly. Only downside was food was lukewarm at the best and buggies sometimes sparse to get you about, waiting 20 -30 minutes sometimes. Special thanks must go to Hemal the lifeguard, Lucky the chef at the beach bar ( amazing food ) all the staff at Kuda beach bar and at Dhoni bar. Must single out Pramila for her smile and friendliness. Samsil our cleaner for wanting to do things even when told that all was ok. Staff at reception couldn’t do enough and were always on hand to help. Another downside was the travelling and waiting times at the airports which made it long days both going and coming home.

We really had a fantastic time at Canareef over Christmas and New Year. We were unfortunate that our flight was delayed for 5 hours so we didn't arrive till really early in the morning, but they welcomed us with open arms and made sure the check in process was really quick and smooth. It was a short buggy drive to our beach front villa with a jacuzzi, which we used every day! The room was really big and spacious with a lovely balcony, big bathroom, and closet area. We walked to the restaurant and bar a lot, but you can just call for a buggy. I was very impressed with all the events the hotel put on for christmas and New Year. The dancing and singing, DJ, games, cocktail party, christmas dinner NYE dinner, and much more were all inclusive and really did make our trip special. Many times I forgot our room number, the staff never once did! They were spectacular, such a big selling point of the resort. We had 2 massages they were fabulous. The beach bar was beautiful, the only down side, never enough staff working! And a lot of people would get a buggy up there early in the morning to put towels down and get the buggy back for breakfast which is so annoying, I only know this as the resort is great for a 5k run so saw people do this everyday! We managed to help the turtles back to sea and go and see the dolphins! All in all we really really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation and package was excellent, I hope to return! Only a few negatives, some days no towels by the pool, or no sun louges available, I don't think each villa needs 4 loungers, some of these should be allocated to the beach, for the price I pay I want to be able to have a louger on the pool or beach. Would have been great if all restaurants were open. Fantastic stay and the staff hoenstly were amazing from the cleaning team to the bar and waiting staff to the manager, everyone wanted to make sure we were having the best time.

Just spent a week here for our honeymoon. Beautiful Island and the staff are great, so friendly and helpful, the baranager who I think she is Russian however I felt could be more customer friendly as found her a little abrupt when ordering a drink, also observed her providing feedback to her team in front of customers, best to do this away in private or in a daily download before opening or when closed. Front of house managers is very customer friendly and the onsite doctor also really good. Rooms are lovely, a little refresh needed but overall well positioned and loads onsite buggies to take you where you need to go. Was a mix up on arrival with out room type allocation which I believe was due to our agent and not onsite but we ended missing dinner after 24 hours travelling. All inclusive is quite limiting but you can purchase food from Meera or beach bar and it's lovely. Snacks are not the best,maybe could offer complimentary nuts with drinks. Beach meal was fantastic and dolphin excursion was fabulous. All in all if the rooms and bars had a refresh of paint and all inclusive menu offered more salad selection , fries just more variety this would achieve a 5 star rating as the staff just make your experience one of the best.
