Amazing service and even more amazing breakfast. We were welcomed with a hot pot of tea by the fireplace while we checked in. Nice comfortable.room overlooking the river. But the highlight was the breakfast, absolutely amazing!

I enjoyed an excellent two night stay and couldn’t fault it at all. The hotel was very clean and fresh. Breakfast was very good. Very pleasant welcoming also. Hopefully will return one day. Ken. Morecambe

We had originally booked in for a total of four nights, but we were enjoying the comfort of the hotel so much, we extended our stay by a further two nights. It's one of the best buffet breakfasts we've ever had, the choice is astonishing, all well-cooked and good-quality food, all overseen by Hans, the owner, who is a one-man dynamo, dealing single-handedly with the cooking, delivering tea and coffee to the tables, not to mention taking care of any queries and the front desk. Our room was extremely well appointed and very comfortable, and we certainly hope to visit again, and would not hesitate to recommend the Bridge Hotel, Helmsdale.

A beautiful old building with lots of interesting artefacts throughout the guesthouse. A great place to stay with bikes as good secure bike storage available. We had a large room which exceeded expectations. Plenty to eat for breakfast. Thank you.

Situated on the N500 and No1. on TripAdvisor for Helmsdale , basically because there is little else here. Good points are large clean rooms. Downside is the lack of overhead shower. The dining room looked great in the evening when set for morning but by the time we arrived nothing had been cleared from the tables and we had difficulty finding a clean table. There was a choice of hot or cold food , however it was not appealing. The owner wore a filthy apron and therefore my perceptions were not good. P.S. The fish restaurant next door is fantastic .

Sat in the heart of Helmsdale, this is a beautiful hotel. The reception area has beautiful dark wood panneling and very comfy seating area with a range of literature for walkers and tourists. The rooms were spacious, the beds lovely. As I left my room each morning, I was enticed to the dining area by the lovely smell of breakfast. I was not disappointed. The breakfast set me up well. The harbour is a short 10 minute walk away, and if you're lucky you might see the seals and orca pod that patrols the coast on a nevening stroll. The village also has its own museum, which is well worth a visit, with a great tearoom.

Full of character in the centre of the village with countryside views and very close to the sea Reasonably priced with a good breakfast and a very clean spacious room. The downside was an extremely small shower in the bathroom The local museum is worth visiting too

Arrived to a dismissive welcome. Couldn’t even be bothered to tell us where our rooms were. We explained we were leaving early and asked if there was an option for continental breakfast to go (coffee and pastry) He ignored us. Room was clean and comfortable. There was a bath with a mixer tap but no shower curtain or rail. A little noisy, I could hear other guests banging doors, talking and snoring. In the morning, I tried to shower (sitting in the bath) but the water ran out half way in. The towel was dirty and had some strange orange/brown stains on it. My friend mentioned later that his shower was cold and he had to wash in the sink. Also met some people at a local bar who had stayed there previously and mentioned the lack of shower curtain and cold water. Seems like a common issue.
