Our stay at Hotel Inglaterra was unfortunately a major disappointment, with one significant exception: the reception staff. They were truly outstanding. Their excellent English skills made communication effortless, and they went out of their way to assist us. From helping with practicalities to sharing valuable tips on how to make the most of Havana, they were the highlight of our stay. However, the positive experience at the reception could not make up for the dreadful condition of the room. It was a huge letdown. The room lacked a window, making it feel cramped and claustrophobic. Everything was clearly outdated and in need of serious refurbishment. To make matters worse, the noise levels were unbearable. Loud music played until midnight, and starting as early as 6 a.m., we were woken up by relentless noise, making restful sleep impossible. On top of it all, the bed sheets were dirty (blood stains?) and the towels as well. For €130 per night, this level of quality is unacceptable. We expected much more for such a price. Considering the vast array of better hotels available in Havana, I strongly advise looking elsewhere for accommodation. This hotel simply does not live up to its historic reputation or its price tag.
