Bay of Islands Holiday Park

Amazing place to camp, our family just love this place every day spent here was enjoyable the camp is well equipped with great facilities for family. The Haruru falls right in the park great swimming spot and the pool is an added bonus. The staff here were extrodinary nothing was to much the managers also 10/10 Thank you all for helping us to create beautiful memories with our boys.

Our first night on a site in our RV and probably a good thing because we didn't have anything else to compare it to at that point! Good points - a small site, supermarket over the road and only a 10 min walk into the town itself. Not so good - receptionist Jan maybe needs a bit of work on her communication skills - comes across quite abrupt. Have to pay for hot water - not something we've found in subsequent sites as we've travelled round. Showers have very little ventilation so you end up still wet even after drying off! Overall a fair experience but could be drastically improved with just a couple of minor tweaks.

We arrived Monday the 23rd January and left today the 29th January fo avoid the next weather bomb. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Plenty of room and good amenities. Certainly worth every penny. NZMCA members discount. Only 8 kilometres Paihia and 9 kilometres to KeriKeri and about 12 kilometres to KawaKawa. It has a lovely pool and plenty of powered and non powered sites. The staff were very friendly.

Booked and paid for 2 nights in advance for powered RV site and family trailer tent. Unfortunately because of extreme weather in Auckland 370mm rain fell overnight and a state emergency order we were unable to get there due to land slips and flooding. Please note there are NO REFUNDS or Discounts as a good will gesture. Really really disappointed with this holiday park! Wouldn’t ever stay now and definitely wouldn’t recommend. A poor show!!!!

This park had friendly staff, but was EXTREMELY BUSY they literally packed in tents on top if each other which didnt look good, I was lucky to have a self contained campervan so parked up in my spot OK. I had concerns over cleanliness of the toilets, showers, kitchen and wash basins. All dirty, floors dirty. Showers were mouldy and smelt of mould. NOT HOT SHOWERS. ALL THE WATER IS DISCOLOURED A LIGHT BROWN. Therefore even though they said fine to drink, i did not drink the water. This camp felt like it could definitely do with a deep clean and make over. I was glad to leave the facilities behind me. Even though this place is cheap I have stayed in much nicer cheap options and wish i had just stayed at a DOC site than here so think twice before booking long term stays. Also midges/mosquitos if no breeze as close to river.
