Change of travel plans more than a week in advance and they still charged me for the room, changes that were out of my control

Rooms have been updated since I was here last. A few years back. Melanie on reception was very welcoming and friendly. Room was very clean and tidy. Great free parking. I’ll let you know in the morning how I slept. I asked if there any sockets near bedside table as I use a cpap machine to sleep. Melanie knew what o meant straight away. And assumed me there is. Thanks Mel. Well done.

Stayed overnight while visiting family, room was comfortable however the bathroom was not clean as there was hair and the shower had water stains on it . Was staying on ground floor and facing the car park and there was no net curtains on the window so we had to keep the curtains closed while we were staying.

Situated in the middle of a waste ground with a KFC next door and a Mecca bingo across the road really set the tone. Room was hard to get into as the door needed a massive push to open as it was sticking, and one in the room there was debris on the floor left over by the previous visitor. The room itself was quite clean but certainly not immaculate. The tv was the size a a postage stamp too. The bathroom was disgusting. Tiles stained, toilet stained and just looked unhygienic. Went outside, heard a noise behind me and saw a train trundling past 3 feet from the rear of the hotel. There was also a security guard either sat in the reception at night looking like he was reevaluating his life choices or wandering around the corridors. . On my second night I was outside and heard a receptionist that was having a cigarette in the car park (classy) shouting don’t do it or I will evict you. I looked up and there was someone hanging out of their room trying to smoke (again classy). Then at 5.30 am had a knock on my door and a receptionist and security guard entered my room and told me that there had been a fire alarm and they had to check my room. Felt like I was being accused of smoking in my room. I explained what had happened the previous night but they didn’t want to know. After establishing I had done nothing wrong they then left. NEVER AGAIN.

The staff are super friendly and professional. Room is well maintained and clean. Bed is super comfortable. Location is great! Highly recommend!!

Stayed here many times as ideal location. However the visit this time was not as smooth as others. Unlike most people we actually requested rooms overlooking the station. It's easy to download an app called Real Trains which will tell you what type of train and the time it will be calling at the station. The hotel cannot be held responsible for the loud train announcements nor the continuous car horn that exploded into the room from 12.12 until 1.30am. ****** in the station carpark having a competition to see who could blast their horn for the longest time. However they are responsible for the bed in room 402 to tick all night due to faulty wiring in the headboard. The bathroom fan in room 414 working non stop we turned all the electricity off in the room and it continues. Two people didn't sleep well due to noise and losing an hour due to GMT didn't help the issue. The rooms themselves although tired were cleaned to a very high standard and all the staff we encountered were polite and helpful. The smell of **** is another constant. Not just outside. It's very bad. Through the hotel and in one of our rooms. We encountered a person sleeping rough in the reception area and his belongings outside the door so either homeless or down on his luck. No problem except he was laying across the seat and made no effort to move his legs whilst we struggled to get past with bags and a mobility scooter. We will be returning because as earlier mentioned it's ideal for our needs but hopefully not noisy rooms.

I had a very good experience at this hotel. Stayed with the family for one night as lay over for onward travel. Rooms are well kept and beds are very comfortable. Rooms were very clean and we had no issues whatsoever. The location is excellent, surrounded with superstores and all major fast food outlets. Marina has its own collections of shops and restaurants.
