Hotel Mayur

Visited Haridwar on 7-8-9 April long weekend. Considering too much crowd, most of the hotels were full when we find this hotel. When the room was shown to us, he said the price of double bed non AC is 800 Rs. But when we asked for booking, he demanded 1000 Rs. This was a bad experience for me. Anyways, I am listing other pros and cons: Pros: 1. Location is perfect. It is in between the market so you can enjoy shopping or late night stroll comfortably; exactly opposite to the hotel is Mansa Devi temple gate; Har ki Pauri is 10 mins walk. 2. Hotel has all types of rooms: AC, non AC, double bed, triple bed, family room. 3. It has a lift to go upstairs; though it is very loud and scary. You would prefer to avoid it. Cons: 1. There was no soap or towel given. When we asked, we were given one soap. Towels were not available. 2. Lights don't work in the room. 3. No complimentary water bottle given. 4. Crowd is not good; all the time you will hear people shouting, talking loudly, anyone will knock your door at any time even during night. 5. The mattress was broken and it was impossible to even sit. It was changed after our complaint. 6. The entire room and washroom needs proper cleaning; the floor feels sticky and dirty. 7. In the room and in washroom, you can clearly hear who else is pooping or bathing or washing hands because the rooms are so connected and there is ZERO insulation. Overall, it is good if you are looking just for a room to spend a night in the middle of market at very low price. It has all the attributes of a good lodge but please don't expect anything much.
