Grotto Bay Beach Resort

Our stay at Grotto Bay was wonderful. We stayed for 9 nights in September and were thrilled with the room, cleanliness, staff and grounds. The spa was great, I’ve never had a massage in a cave before but can’t wait to do it again now. We also enjoyed swimming in Cathedral cave on the property, it was cold and you have to be careful on the stairs down but worth it. We snorkeled right from the beach to see coral, fish and a shipwreck. We primarily used the bus/ferry to get around during our stay and found the central location very convenient. We could jump on the bus just outside the property for a quick ride to St. George’s or the other way to Hamilton and took the ferry to the dockyard from there. With several trips each way while we were there, we definitely got our money’s worth out of the passes. The close proximity meant we could walk to Swizzle Inn, Crystal Caves, Bailey’s Ice cream and Blue Hole park (don’t wear white shoes for that last one). I can’t wait to go back and would recommend this resort if you are visiting Bermuda. Note: this is a big property so talk to them if you have mobility issues. We stayed in the farthest building from the main one and politely said “no thank you” to help with our bags when we checked in. You bet we got help when we checked out. Lol Other than the bags, it just meant a few extra steps for us during our stay.

I returned to Bermuda for the first time since 2006, surprising my wife (her first time) for her birthday. We decided to stay at GB and we could not have had a better time. Initially we were scheduled to arrive on 8/18 and seriously considered cancelling due to the pending hurricane. However, the folks at Grotto Bay easily allowed us to push our entire trip back two days with no issues whatsoever. We arrived just in time for our cave massages which, even if you don't stay at the resort, should experience at least once. I also enjoyed waking up (most of the time before the chickens), to work out on the pier and catch each morning's sunrise before venturing out and about on the island. Because my wife and I were on the go so much we declined the all inclusive package, but we still found ourselves dining at the restaurants on the resort several times - and enjoyed each meal thoroughly. We found the service to be second to none- our rooms were pristine, and the staff were more than helpful with any and all requests we may have had. As we begin to think about a return trip (this time with our kids), Grotto is at the very top of the list as it provides a combination convenience, accessibility (to a number of hot spots on the island) affordability, and can serve as its own destination spot for couples and families alike as there is plenty to do onsite or nearby. A+++++ experience.

We have been visiting Grotto Bay for many years and have been very happy with it. A beautiful location and the service is top notch. The new renovations are wonderful and we’re looking forward to seeing them completed when we return next year!

Visited the spa on a recent visit to Bermuda, and it was amazing! The spa is located in a large cave. As you walk in, the air immediately cools, as you wind you way to the spa area. . There is water dripping and beautiful rock formations. It is so quiet, you feel the need to whisper, and listen to the dripping water. The sitting area is comfortable and open. There is a beautiful body of water, and the treatment areas are suspended in the water. I had the 80 minute natura massage, which was probably the best massage I have had. It is so quiet and the water dripping on the tent is so soothing. This is a must visit if you are looking for a unique spa experience in Bermuda. But not if you are claustrophobic .

The hotel it is in a great location. No welcome. The hotel is under construction and improvements ( it is necessary), the rooms need upgrades, the beach, the cave are beautiful, the pool need upgrades, gardens unattended, the personal will be retained, the restaurant needs upgrades, meals: poor variety and ok. All inclusive package tricky.

Picturesque beach resort in Bermuda with outstanding customer service. June Ann was the epitome of friendly and knowledgeable service and improved the quality of our stay immensely. She was quite pleasant and knew every little bit of Bermuda. We absolutely will return in the near future!

This was my 10th trip to Bermuda and second at Grotto Bay (first time was back in 2011, so a lot has changed). To start off, we booked our hotel (2 connected rooms) over a month in advance. Before arriving I had called the hotel on three different occasions to ask for our rooms to be easily accessible since we had three toddlers (especially easy to access beach and pool). Each time we were told “we have your note on file”. When we arrived the front desk the man checking us in didn’t provide any information on the hotel grounds, or restaurants or meal packages. He was not helpful at all. When we got to our rooms (Long story short), we were the furthest away one could possibly get from the beach and pool, and this made our stay so difficult! The journey back to our room caused one of my toddlers heat exhaustion on our second day (which ended up being a waste of a day). Some other cons included us waiting over 40 minutes for anyone on wait staff to take our dinner order (this was for a 6:30pm reservation) before our dinner even came, the people around us were already on dessert. Obviously frustrated, we didn’t end up having time to finish our food, and had to leave to put our tired and very patient toddlers to bed. It turned out nobody knew who was suppose to be waiting our table. The staff seemed unorganized. When going to the beach, some mornings there were no towels available or no beach chairs available to sit in. And there was nobody to help you out on the beach (just a lady “pretending” to broom, the stairs, who wouldn’t greet or acknowledge us, even when we said excuse me to ask a question about the property, she simply pretended she didn’t hear us). Overall, on the property, we only found one or two employees who were genuinely helpful once (helping us carry our toddlers wagon down the stairs so we wouldn’t have to take the long hilly way down or back). I’m giving this review three generous stars because the property is pretty, but overall the service was very inconsistent, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend coming here with toddlers.

Everything about this hotel was nice! The room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, the staff were amazing and very helpful. Loved the Jacuzzi and the beach. There are also plenty water sports. If your thinking about this place for just you, couples, family or even for business, Just book it! You will not be disappointed.

I cannot say enough how much I enjoy staying at Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa. I have been back repeatedly because I always experience the most amazing week with such friendly and warm people. Not to mention the beauty of the hotel, the beach, pool, caves, as well as the entertainment provided. The dining room experience is top-notch. Everyone from the Maitre d', the waiters and the cooks are excellent and so friendly. The food is delicious and there are so many foods to choose from. Also the woman at the dining room front desk greeting you as you come in the dining room is friendly and welcoming and makes you feel right at home. My cleaning lady was also very friendly and did an excellent job. I have stayed at this Hotel many many times and it is always spotless. Every staff member makes you feel special and wanted. I cannot say enough how much I love staying at this Hotel. I always experience the most amazing week with such friendly and warm people. Everything you can want is at this Hotel.
