I recently stayed at OBERDECK Studio Apartments and was extremely disappointed with my entire experience. I booked an Apartment Classic – Split Level for two adults through booking platform, yet upon arrival, I was confronted with an unjustified additional fee for an extra guest—even though my confirmation clearly stated that the rate I paid was for two adults. This check-in ordeal was not only stressful but made me feel unwelcome from the moment I arrived. Moreover, the condition of the apartment left much to be desired. The stairs leading to the room were uncomfortably narrow and poorly maintained, making access difficult. Inside, the quality of the furnishings was subpar: the pillow covers were shredded, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the ceiling was so low that I constantly had to watch my head. For the rate charged, I expected a much higher standard of accommodation, including proper cleaning services and overall better maintenance. I would not recommend OBERDECK Studio Apartments to anyone seeking a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for your accommodation needs.

Very close to Altona train station, also very close to everything in Ottensen. Fast and friendly check in. Very clean and nice room, but we had a room with a sleeping area which could only be reached by climbing a ladder (think tiny house). I had known this before we booked and I had always wanted to see what that's like, but I didn't like it at all. Found bed area claustrophobic and uncomfortable to reach. I asked for a room change but unfortunately they were sold out. Not the hotel's fault! It just wasn't right for me. Great view from "Oberdeck Terrasse" on 7th (?) floor, nice little vending area up there with coffee, soft drinks, snacks and very fair prices!! I believe we paid 1.5 euros for soft drinks and maybe 2.0 euros for coffee. The Oberdeck does not feel like a hotel, there is no lobby, no bar area. I liked that the front door is equipped with a security camera and the front desk is occupied 24 hours. We would stay there again but only in a regular room without stairs.

The apartment block is very well situated close to the main Altona station with shops, pubs and restaurants all close by. Apartments are spotlessly clean and staff and nice and friendly. Apartment is well equipped with small kitchen, fridge hob etc and bathroom is small but adequate. Downside is the size overall they are tiny and the split level arrangment doesn't help. The stairs up to the bed space are steep/offset and dangerous and the head heigh in the bedroom is only aboy 1500mm so you can stand up. Laid in bed you can touch the ceiling and the bed is only accessible from one side. For 1 person maybe OK but not for a couple for 4 nights except maybe in the premium apartments which may be a bit better..
