I may be getting to old for this
The university is great, easy check in, nice staff, safe, super clean, awesome showers. There is a clean communal kitchen down the hall to cook and store food and there is a nice tv room which I made use of both.
My only complaint is the beds, you need to be ok with sleeping on a hard glorified cot. These mattresses are hard, my bed had noisy springs and it was zero comfort. Having said that, my 25 year old son, had zero issues and had two great nights sleep. So it is very likely I have become “sensitive” in my years but I can’t do the dorm beds thing again. However in terms of all the other stuff, I’d give it 10/10 for safe, clean, economical, centrally located (with free parking) accommodation.

The accommodations were exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. Close to downtown and it’s many attractions.

Recent stay at Risley Hall
I found the room and shared bathroom mostly clean. The women's hygiene station in the bathroom needs to be cleaned more frequently but the shower was nice and clean.
I also understand there may be a policy for students not to ask for printing to be done by staff, but I think visiting guests should be accommodated in this manner.
Lastly the vending machines are not great. I imagine there's a contract across the university but two machines ate my money and the product was not delivered.

Basic but also economical, however the showers is Risley hall could use some attention they are very tired, and the kitchen work surfaces didnt seem to be cleaned daily either

Staff were very helpful, the property and room were great value for its price and the area felt safe and in a good location. There's also free parking and staff let us store our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

My only issue with this accommodation is ******* listing multiple addresses rather than just the one required. A 50 minute walk in the rain rather than what should have been 10 minutes is slightly frustrating.
The staff from dal were A . *******, not so much.

The property itself was great - clean, modern, safe and within walking distance of most of downtown. The only issue were the beds; the mattresses were insanely uncomfortable and the bedding really thin, which made for some really cold nights. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Very nice option instead of a very pricey hotel. My sister and I spent a few days in Halifax and we each had our own room (typical dorm room) and a connecting bathroom. Very basic of course but great for just having a place to sleep. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms also. Didn’t check out any common areas or kitchen or pool. We would do this again.

Very clean rooms, pretty quiet and not too crowded when we stayed. Great option for affordable accommodations with more privacy than a hostel.
